Fellow electrician here. I'm now 50 and wished I had spent my time assembling these on folding tables. ( It's the only way I assemble them now) trust me, It will save your knees.

I don’t like working around the blades while trying to wire the unit at the ceiling. I assemble it from the top down(depending on the model). I agree with the other poster-I would try not to work on my knees whenever possible.

Have you tried the local Lowe's???? Every year they take down a lot of the displays. Sell them for 10 to 40. I buy all they have and list them for sale and installation. Some of the sale for $200 or more each. People blow up my phone long after the 30 to 50 fans are gone. In fact , my fans installed in my home number 10, and I paid less than 400 for all. The one in my master cost 40 but sells new for 299.. I have two Hunter oil bath outdoor fans that I gave 15 for each...they are 275 new .

It seems so odd to see those lock rings getting put on so easily with your hand in the shades like that lol I'm so use to barely getting my hands to fit lol
