Similar to the fringed 1851 Navy Holster I made, this cross draw goes a little further. The body is made of 4-5oz veg tanned leather, a 2-3on liner and a 2oz water buffalo crazy hose overlay. The 6 horse hair tassels are adorned with 10mm turquois beads, wood beads and an antiqued bronze cone beads. A cross made of 5/16" and 1/4" antique copper Aztec spots, dress the front of this extreme angle Cross Draw holster.
All of the leather ant the Aztec spots were purchased at Weaver Leather in Mt. Hope, Ohio. Click on my affiliate link below to order all the stuff you'll need to make a holster of your own.

Turquois beads and horsehair were purchased from ebay.

Awesome that you showed the beading process. Wow. I'd go through a lot of bourbon doing that. Great work!

I like your style of making patterns I’ve been doing all my holsters starting with paper even made the holster for the ranchand from Wanted Dead or Alive 40 rounds in the belt all hand stitched

That's a lot of bullet loops! I've had enough after 12 loops. I do need to get me a Ranch Hand, they've been hard to find lately and pretty expensive these days too! Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching!

My lord, you are getting so innovative with these holsters, I can't wait to see what you come up with next, whether its a holster, a belt or who knows what else. I do think its a quality piece tho, an a very intricate holster to make, very interesting to say the least. An the toe cap is no biggy, nobody's gonna see it, as long as it works. P. S. I always like a toe cap in my holsters, personal preference tho, nothing wrong with an open toe either. Thx for the vid Richard

Thank you William! I've been wanting to do more and more complex holsters, just to see what I can do. I like both open end and toe plugs, just depends on the look . I'm currently working on a suede fringed jacket with a notched lapel collar, wish me luck. This is my first time drafting my own lapel collar, I hope I got it right because I just finished cutting out all the suede!

Richard, I am not sure how many times I have watched this video, at least 3 or 4 before today. But, I am planning on making a holster for an 1851 Navy And figured what the heck I am Cherokee so I want to do something that at least somewhat reflects that heritage. Between this video and the one you did for an 1851 I think I have something of a starting point. Of course, I will naturally add my own flair to it, Maybe leave out the brass studs and do a beaded Medicine Wheel or a Thunderbird instead. If it looks half as good as yours, I will be very happy with it. Thanks for the inspiration.

Youre really talented at making holsters that you arent that familiar with. It would be really cool to see you try to make one of my favourite holster style. Either a Mexican Loop holster or a Mexican Piteado Holster. The Piteado model is my favourite one. I own one myself that I had made from a really talented leatherworker.

I have really been wanting to make a Mexican Loop Holster but until now, I had never seen the Piteado holsters. I may have to make at least one of each. The Piteado looks like it will take a while though! That's a lot of hand embroidery!

@@SmallCaliberArmsReview Yeah it is alot of hand broidery but I think it is worth it for how beautiful it looks.

Hey Richard. I watched you make many patterns too small. Why not make them larger at first. You can always fix that easier with scissors or a razor blade. Just my thought. Alan

You'd think I'd learn to keep track of it by now, just in case someone asks! I actually did this one in one day, with the exception of the toe plug. (I sewed it in the next morning) I did take several breaks and even had to run to town to pick up a couple things, but for the most part, it was one really long day. The toe plug looked better after I dyed it and ran the slicker over it. I'm sure if I had someone else to do the filming, and I had everything I needed to make a holster within reach, I could do a holster in a few hours. (minus drying time for glue and dyes) Thanks for the compliment and thanks for watching JimE!

Horse hair. Folded in half, tied with thread and pulled up into the ferrule cones. Added a couple beads and stitched the ends into the seam.
