Instead of the Welcome Home sign, how about a family portrait?

This was so meaningful because many times I have put myself out to decorate our home only to have my husband and children not care whether it was decorated or not. I wasted so much time managing what I thought was cute holiday home decorations. When in the end, I always felt relieved when it all was put away. Our home always felt fresher and more spacious without the extra stuff out. 😊

Consider placing a Neutral Tone Boho Macrame wall hanging in place of your Welcome Home sign. You could even DIY it. This would an another layer of texture, tone and length. You have a lovely home and style and I enjoy your videos.

Out of all the minimalism/decluttering video I have watched in the last few months this video has had the biggest impact on me! Watching how your home has changed along with your perspective excited me to look at my home differently. Home decor has been the one area I struggled with. I too fussed with all of my Hobby Lobby decor trying to make it work. After seeing your amazing before and after it gave me the inspiration to look at my decor (holiday too!) differently and now I have less to dust and be burdened by. Thank you, thank you!❤

I really like the way your kitchen turned out! That’s how I decorate too-just a couple of things. It’s much easier on the senses than too much OR nothing at all! I have two little wood cutting boards layered and propped on the wall next to my oven. They hide an outlet, and I use them when using the oven to hold the hot food. They’re getting battered and stained, and I like that! Practical decor with lots of memories.

The major difference in your style is that your furniture switched from dark to light. My suggestions are to have a lovely large family portrait or a framed photograph of a special family holiday location as a replacement for the 'Welcome Home' picture. Secondly, is to limit faux floral/ plants. Hobby Lobby isn't fooling anybody. Living plants bring life and energy into a space. In the kitchen, a planter of fresh herbs such as sage, basil, mint, rosemary etc brings in natural fragrance and makes recipes pop with extra flavour. Your home looks comfortable.

Studies show that even fake plants boost the mood like real plants! At least so I've heard haha
@mariastathopoulos7447 күн бұрын
@@abigailwilkerson5284 It may have some positive effect but plastic is a poor imitation of the real thing. Like polyester versus cotton and silk on your body.

Replace the word sign with a light neutral clock, or even a family portrait in grayscale so there's not too much color on the wall!

I only decorate my house at Christmas time. I follow a blog & she decorates her house & porch for every holiday, which to me is a bit OTT. You could add a wedding/family picture there or a picture of the temple that you were sealed in. I’ve never understood why so many people like neutral colours in their houses, I only like bright colours.

I loved the kitchen with nothing out. I'm the opposite... because there is some decor in the living room, I'd want a fairly bare kitchen. Does anyone here... I don't know how folks do this. I've seen channels where they decorate with books on the countertop. I don't mean cookbooks you whip out to look up on a shelf or in a cabinet. I mean those really expensive coffee table type books on the countertops. With splatter and spray and grease... I just can't imagine. Your videos are always so positive and relatable.

I like the little added touches in the kitchen; however, putting the three items grouped onto a tray might create a more cohesive look, plus it would be easier to pick up the entire tray at once in order to clean the countertop.

Like the items in the kitchen. Too bare without anything. I would look for a painting or large photograph of nature. Something to bring the outdoors in. Looking at nature and plants has been proven to relieve stress. That is why they are starting to create spaces like that in hospital settings. Even putting nature photos over lights so when you are having surgery or getting an MRI, you are less stressed.

Stiff square pillows don’t look inviting to me lol. The feathery pillows are MUCH more comfortable IMO, but unless you “shape” them they look sloppy
