Kotor I and II were warning us that Aspyr is not to be trusted with this game and I was proven right again Aspyr is one of, if not, THE worst developer studio to ever exist for such a long time. Couple this with the timing of the announcement (just weeks after the release of Star Wars Dark Forces Remastered, which was done by Nightdive Studios (the makers of Turok Remastered) and not these these dumpster rats that call themselves developers at Aspyr) and all the alarms were sounded very loud that this would go terrible

I wouldn't be surprised if Aspyr barely lifted a finger for this game. My bet is they just lazily slapped some AI-scaled textures onto the old game, recycled console menus, threw in some DLC characters, and called it a day. And to top it off, they couldn't even bother including the cutscenes for the campaign. Aspyr is absolute trash.

AI is laughable, but it's hardly any better nowadays when compared to a similar game like BF2042. Like, other than the graphics and animations absolutely being the product of their times, I don't know what would need to be changed other than fixing bugs.

The Command and Conquer Remaster was a huge hit with fans of the original, and there's a big part of the fanbase lobbying for a Remaster of Tiberian Sun/Red Alert 2. But the C&C Remaster was done with tons of love by the original developers, and more surprising, fully backed by EA! Even the re-release of the "Ultimate Collection" (without the Remaster of Tiberian Dawn/Red Alert) was a big hit recently. But again, they changed very little, except to make the collection playable on modern hardware. Again, this was EA doing it... so if you want to talk about "low expectations".... we can start right there. I realize there's a lot of problems with his release, but I had a lot of fun in the Single Player side of it (trying to learn the controls of it before heading into Multiplayer). But maybe part of the problem was the end gamer setting themselves up for disappointment. While I'm not saying that the grievances aren't valid.... maybe everyone just expected too much, only to be let down. I come from the gaming era of "You bought a game, and it worked. There was no such thing as updates or patches." Hell, you can't update a cartridge with a ROM microchip soldered to a card inside of it. Games these days are fully digital delivery, and I think THAT is part of the problem as well. No "physical media" means no accountability for functionality.

Well the switch version works better then steam (somehow) and BC I actually runs really good. BF II has some problems with preformace but isn’t so bad plus it’s half the GB

Actual Improvements that should’ve been made -Add in B1 Battle Droid from BF1 into BF2 (Space Marine during Space Battles is the only thing close) -Add in 1st Person Vehicle HUD from BF1 into BF2 (mods accomplished this very task easily) -FOV Slider for both games, 1st & 3rd Person -Add some more BF1 maps into BF2 (Rhen Var: Citadel & Harbor & Bespin: Cloud City maps were from BF1 & were successfully ported into BF2. Tattoine: Dune Sea, Kashyyyk Docks & Islands, Bespin: Platforms, Geonosis: Spire) -Actually better graphics & 60FPS, Better color saturation like BF1 (BF2 lighting & graphics should replicate BF1. More vibrant blue & red lasers. Agreed, I didn’t think that many people cared about the multiplayer. I always posted by myself or split screen with my brother. I think the majority of tire people who bought the game fall into this category. There have been 104,000 sales, and with between 6,000 and 10,000 people playing multiplayer at a time, there are probably between 30,000 and 40,000 people who play online. I have been enjoying the gave, though I will say I have noticed a couple glitches, and the interface for changing axis controls does not make any sense.

Idk why the PC players are whining about this, they already had Battlefront 2 on PC with multiplayer AND mods, they literally didn't need this new version. This, if anything, was for us on consoles to save us from booting up our PS2s for those of us who still have them. The Dark Forces remaster was handled by a studio that actually gives a damn about its games and customers. Aspyr, on the other hand, couldn't care less, and they've proven it over and over again. I mean, remember how atrocious their demo for the KOTOR remake was? It was so horrendous that LucasArts gave them the boot. If that doesn't scream incompetence, I don't know what does. Aspyr is just straight-up garbage.

I know right???!! Like the game was *_LITERALLY_* already made for them!!! All they had to do was update textures, add DLC and bring back the online servers. These are things that mods have done already on the original games. In fact, the DLC mod for the original includes the exact files from the Xbox dlc because one of the original developers gave the files to the modder. So it's like, at this point, a few modders did better at remastering this game and adding these features. And those modders are just fans. HOW ON THE WORLD does a actual gaming company fail so much harder and make the game so much worse compared to just a few modders who love the game and are fans???? This is absolutely *_RIDICULOUS_* I mean seriously wtf???!!? @@clonecommandermike332 Are you serious? Ok, just try something for me, I'm assuming you play "normal", so go start a game and flip it to inverted and see how much fun you have. Pretty awful, right? This is because you've trained your brain and muscles to accept that forward is up and back is down, and when you're controlling a game, a lot of the translation between your mind thinking "I want to move to go that way" and your hands moving the controller in the appropriate manner is done subconsciously via muscle memory, it's not something you actively think about. I've been playing games for 30 years, I started on space/flight sims with joysticks then went to shooters. My brain and muscles are trained to think forward is down, back is up, which is technically exactly how your muscles control your head movement, so don't tell me it's stupid or unnatural. Getting back to the subject, you can't just flip a switch on your brain and ignore your muscle memory, trying to play games with the controls set the opposite way is essentially trying to play the game while fighting your own brain, and all developers have to do to fix this is just have a code which says "reverse z-axis input". It's not complicated, it's simple quality of life that any fly-by-night game studio can manage, but not Aspyr, apparently.

Yeah, these people honestly need to be sued. This is a blatant shame cash grab. The modders on the OG Battlefront 2 did a better job, we had a texture update mod and a Xbox dlc port mod, with the actual Xbox files that the old developers gave to the modders. The company who made the remaster Aspyr, had the EASIEST, SIMPLEST job: Update textures (basically a simple mod), port the DLC to other consoles (something literally every game with DLC does), and then bring back online, and keep the game how it was (no 100 ticket game limits that limit the game time to 2-3 minutes when we used to be able to go to like 500 or 1000 idek, I just remember playing 30min games all the time). Then all they had to do was update controller support for newer controllers. It is ridiculous they could fail so hard. I mean they did worse than modders who were just fans of the game and loved the game. Meanwhile Aspyr was getting paid BIG money to do this yet failed so badly. It I genuinely perplexing at how this stuff even happens. If this happened in any other industry it would be labeled as a blatant scam, cash grab.

This list makes it obvious that they have literally nobody assigned to QC. For some of these issues all it would have taken is someone to flick through the menu a little bit looking for layout and font issues. The fact that they didn't do the most basic quality control and back-checking leaves me not very surprised at these much bigger issues.
