I have supported Darwin since he first joined our club. He has been a breath of fresh air. Some have tried to make him a scapegoat /patsy for all LFC's failings over the last three months or so. If he leaves this summer, the club will regret it at its leisure.

Abuse is never acceptable, reasonable criticism is. I have not hidden my opinion of Darwin Nunez, I don't think he is good enough at this level. Natural goal scoring strikers are born they are not developed, aspects of their game can be improved by coaching, putting the ball in the back of the net isn't one of them. I've never met Darwin and I am sure he is a really nice guy, he has many attributes to his game, unfortunately scoring doesn't appear to be at the top of the list. While he wears the red of Liverpool, I will support him, but I cant deny my feelings regarding Nunez, I don't believe he is good enough for us. If he does leave us then I would wish him well.

Yes it's not nice to say mean things to other people we all know that. However even saying "I'm going to k*** you" on the Internet is not a death threat. Unless there is something more credible like including a photo taken of the person in public, outside their house etc etc. Then that is a death threat. People say crap all the time and it is just that. Social media should not be doing anything about this. Everyone has the opportunity to simply use the block button or ignore button, or whatever you want to call it. It's a simple solution and has been around forever, at least as long as I remember anyway. I'd also say writing to your MP and asking government to fix it is a monumental bad idea, it's a slippery slope starting with censorship, then prevents free speech, then prevents people disagreeing with their leaders and the next thing we are in a purely Communist dictatorship. Free speech means allowing shi**y speech that we do not agree with. We should never ever ever want to lose free speech, however horrible whatever the person is saying. As long as there is not a genuine threat of harm, something tangible has to be the threat, then no crime has been committed and we should not lower the bar of what constitutes a crime of just mean hurty words over the Internet. Simply block the person. If you feel genuinely at risk call the police. Problem is so many people constitute words with violence.
