John Walker had some logic in episode 5. When he was a regular soldier in the army his mission was to “clear” of terrorists. But after he becomes Captain America and kills one criminal in front of people, it made the government look bad. So John was more of a Anti-Hero/Villain.

im curious as to why he left out the scene at the end where bucky brings up the 'by my people he meant hydra' part, because it strengthens that link between the racism of making black super soldiers and using them as test bait where the black super soldiers where expendable like in the comics but also clears up that he wasnt blaming bucky for that stuff and that he blames bucky for what hydra was doing to him

People don’t give him enough props after his first appearance. He could’ve easily been written to be a total asshole from the beginning, and while he eventually does become one, smoothbrains will hate him regardless.

I love that the fans have so much mix feelings about John Walker because we all expected him to be homelander but actually turned out to be a normal dude. But still, he’s no captain America and he might even know it. I’m looking forward to what they do with him as they show progresses.

They criticize Walker for getting his ass kicked, but Bucky and Sam also got their ass kicked and they say nothing about that. They criticize Walker for not having power or for not being a super soldier, but Sam also is like Walker. They criticize him for being the new Cap even though it wasn't his choice and even Steve Roger was also chosen. Steve did not choose to become Cap America on his own, they chose him to be Cap America. It's very hypocritical.

I get it right we all love Steve because of how good of person he was and how good of a hero he was but we gotta chill a little on the hate towards John in the show, I obviously know what he became in the comics and what he likely will become in the MCU but up through this episode he didn’t deserve the hate because the only bad thing about him was he’s a little annoying now granted in episode 3 we see him getting closer to who we all know on the pages of the comics but this is a guy who didn’t ask to be Captain America it was thrust upon him and he accepted graciously and seemingly a little hesitantly, but basically all I’m trying to say is if there was someone to be mad at be mad at the Government for trying to recreate Captain America or be frustrated with Sam for giving up the Shield John Walker is just a guy trying to do a job the best he can

Dr. Abraham Erskine He chose Steve for his Super Soldier test and to become Captain America because he wasn't looking for "The Perfect Soldier", instead he needed "A Good Man". Steve chose Sam because he was a "Good Man" like Steve. But the people chose John because he was the "Perfect Soldier"

Disrespected? That's is non senses. First, you can't disrespect a fictional character. Second. Captain America is just a name. Anyone can be Captain America, but not everybody can be Steve Rogers. They specifically show you that he is almost nothing like Steve om purpose.

I think we’ll see his downward spiral in this show and maybe by the end Sam will be the new Captain America and JW will become US Agent. Maybe as an antagonist but not a full fledged villain or maybe as an antihero.
