I was in that crowd. The energy was insane. Everyone went absolutely crazy at the Palpatine and Rise of Skywalker back to back reveals.

I was actually kinda hoping that would be the case in The Last Jedi. Maybe it was time for the Jedi to end. No more Jedi, No more Sith, no more absolutes. It's like Luke said: "To say the Jedi and the Force are one and the same is arrogance."

I woke up Friday morning, hungover and just feeling meh, but saw that one of the recommended videos was "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" trailer, and freaked out. Saw that Anakin's lightsaber looked fixed, got some goosebumps. I about jumped up and hollered when I saw Lando. Eyes grew when I saw what I thought was the ruins of the Death Star. Finally, I hear Palpatine's laughing, and I just absolutely lost my mind. Girlfriend asked me wtf was wrong, and I showed her. She understood completely and I carried on with my excitement. Watching so many people also react similarly almost brings a tear to my eye.

These people were excited to such an extent that be the case when the Star Wars logo opened up to show the title, the words THE LAST JEDI happened to appear, they would have unconditionally screamed in excitement
