I feel like a major reason why a lot of people like me who were big on OFWGKTA didn't want to acknowledge the talent gap was that we were kids and scared of what that meant. I remember specifically trying to avoid conversations about them splitting up or the Hodgy Tyler beef or the talent gap because I felt like OF represented us a lot, and I was always scared of being left behind by said friends or leaving them behind because OF reminded me of that in a way, sorry for the weird rant it's difficult to explain Edit : grammar

I've recently been listening to his full discography and I noticed certain sounds and "riffs" ( I guess you could call it) that appear in some form throughout Goblin - Cherry Bomb and were sort of crystalized in Igor. I thought that was interesting how he really had been playing with these ideas throughout his career. And despite each album sonically being different, they all feel like evolution and not like completely different people made the album and just slapped his voice on it.

I discovered both this album and your channel in 9th grade around November 2011 and both would be my first exposures to things that have been a frequent part of my life up to today. This was right as I was getting into alternative hip hop and death grips and things like that and I’d always watch your album reviews for them, so your channel has put me on to so much music discovery over the years. it’s crazy to see how much both members of odd future and your channel have grown and remained relevant to each other. My college roommates and I would watch thatistheplan all the time. Every time I hear goblin or watch that review I just think of all the experiences and events I’ve gone to for these artists over the past 10 years and how this review was from the very beginning of what I would be following closely up to now at 24. I even got to see death grips at camp flog gnaw in 2016 and a part of me expected to see you in the pit lol

cannot believe it's been the best part of a decade that i've been both watching anton fanton and listening to tyler. i feel as old as time. i remember seeing the yonkers video and just thinking this is the future, kill people burn shit fuck school lmao. must have been like hearing the ramones in 1975.

It’s definitely true that all the responding to specific critiques not only makes it seem like he really does care but you’re right that it really dates the material

i loved this album when it dropped i was like 17 and apart from songs like she, yonkers and nightmare i havent given the album a full listen until i decided to pick it up on vinyl yesterday... im 26 now.. and I think i love the album just as much partly because of nostalgia but also because i feel like its a gritty representation of angsty youth. I also think the album shows a lot of the uniqueness of tyler and his talent (hindsights 20/20). i see it as a time capsule and i enjoy looking back on it like "wow look at this kid making this vulgar album and spitting out whatever filth he wants as a angsty dramatic middle finger. and look at what he is now a well respected and in my opinion creative genius in some respects." im glad I picked this album up it was a interesting trip down memory lane.
