I totally agree! The only other person who could have given an equally stellar performance would have been Ledisi. Another of Aretha's favorites that she deemed worthy of soulfulness. I would have loved to have seen her sing too.

The notion that the dead are in Heaven looking down on us is not Biblical. That's pagan. You will not find any such description of the Heavenly dwellers in the Bible ANYWHERE. If Heaven is described as a place of perfect peace and no worries, no cares (the Third Heaven), do we honestly believe that our loved ones are looking back down at this wicked sinful world WORRYING about us, observing the sinful things we are doing good or bad? As much as I miss my momma I am glad she is absent from the body and present with The Lord and not thinking about this wicked world anymore. Once you are dead and gone to be with The Lord would anyone honestly want to think about this wicked world once you are gone?

i hate to compare, but there's a mark difference between tasia and jennifer. there's no doubt jhud can sang, but i think tasia does more than sanging, she's uninhibited, charismatic, she tugs your soul, she connects, she's not afraid to mingle with the crowd. there's something about her spirit that pulls one to her and her stage presence is beyond any other and with all that she's so humble. she's just the total package.

I'm sorry I don't care what no one says about Fantasia her singing, voice in talking, her personality, her level of education, her looks, and how she sings a different genre of music. Some ppl say she is screams too much and that she tries to put on too much. But I honestly think this woman can out sing Beyonce. Beyonce can't touch this women. I don't care how ppl say they are two different types of singers and voices are different but this women can sing sing better then Beyonce... If Fantasia can sing like she is from an different era like that means she has some raw vocals. She can sing other famous singers music, do tributes to a lot of legends today and icons because she is that unique.

Personally, I don't feel JH as Aretha. I know Aretha picked her personally, and but I read in an interview years ago it was toss up between both Fantasia and JH in Aretha's mind. But I personally would have prefered Fantasia! I know for a fact that Aretha personally said that Fantasia and Ledisi were "her girls". And if we look at Fantasia she is like Aretha in the sense she can sing ANYTHING. She is also the child of a preacher. Grew up with many similar if not near identical life experiences. Fantasia would pour her heart and soul into the role. After seeing Fantasia in The Color Purple I am convinced she should have been the one. However JH is going to kill it. We know she can act (Dreamgirls). And she is going to sing well. I'm just partial to Fantasia because she has a true holy anointing on her voice. I don't get that with JH. Just my opinion.

My Fantasia! Anointed. Respectful. I loved how she walked into the choir and the background because it was about honoring the Queen. She always includes everyone singing and playing for and with her. I thank God for her and hope to see her live one day.❤️🙏🏽👏🏽

You are so right about Fantasia I love how she went off singing Jesus is my friend that's how you do at a funeral not how Jennifer did it you don't finish singing and then go and entertain with the people behind you like Jennifer did this were a funeral not social she should have walked off after singing no she wanted to be seen like always.
