Seedingbyour lawn with cover like that is a neat idea. I have to try it here. Probably just get garter snakes but you never know. Had a near bad episode with corrugated metal and a hidden wasp nest. Good herping!

Just found your channel. Really enjoying your presentations! Knowledge plus passion makes for a fantastic expert and friend to wildlife....which you obviously are. Keep up the good work. I was just as passionate as you 50 years ago. I don't get out in the field so much these days. But your videos take me right there. Thank you for this.

Good video as usual. Beautiful Eastern King. West Texas. How awesome. So many good snakes to come. I'm presently walking across the United states. Left Florida last July and am in El Reno, Oklahoma. Looking forward to Texas as well and NM and Arizona. Plan on doing my share of herping along the road. Thanks for posting your adventures, I love it when I see new videos come up. Have a great week!

Whenever I see the word 'King' in a snakes name I bolt in the other direction... I guess that's because I live in Australia and the only snake we have with 'King' in its name is the King Brown which is super deadly.
@Darhan624 жыл бұрын
Kingsnakes here in the USA are harmless and beautiful. They eat rodents, lizards, and other snakes.

Loving your page. So we live in SoCal. My kids and I enjoy flipping and Herping. Our common finds are Gopher, Rosy Boas and Red Diamond Backs. What tips can you give about placing boards? Size, location, timing? Our most snakey season is April-June. We want to find more snakes!

Noah, thanks for explaining the difference between a scarlet snake and a scarlet king snake. I was still trying to figure out how to tell a scarlet king snake from a milk snake, and now there's a third one! btw, when you search for "difference between scarlet king snake and red milk snake", EVERY SINGLE TIME they will show you a coral snake and a scarlet king....DUH! I can tell them apart! It would be great if you could compare all three of these similar snakes (NOT the coral snake) so we could see them side by side.

I really enjoy your videos,even when nothing pops up which we all know happens. You make it real interesting even if the day stinks snakewise. Here in Pennsylvania,herping is a little harder than down south or in the Midwest. When I go down to the Outer Banks,when not scuba,beachin,or fishing,I almost always come up with something each day. Of course,the real gem find on the Banks is the Outer Banks Eastern king. Their patterns are phenomenal. Good luck in Texas,hope to see a monster bull from ya.

As someone who has lived in Australia their entire lives and grew up in the bush, the idea of actively going out and flipping tin for snakes is awesome! Keep having to remind myself it is NOT a good idea where I am...
@philiplongee11494 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Brown Snake doesn't exactly evoke fear like rattlesnake rattles, cottonmouth gape, and coral snake bright warning colors yet it's one of the most venomous snakes in the world. Why don't you paint all the brown snakes magenta? Magenta snake would still illicit fear and fascination but also have people wanting to select it's color for a tie, shirt, or nail polish. At least you might see it before it bit you. How could you miss that?

Love your videos. We own a cabin and RV resort in Ruidoso NM about 2 hours from El Paso. If you are interested in staying free of charge to make videos let me know. There are hundreds of garter snakes there and I’ve seen a shiny green snake. Also are a small amount of rattlers. Alamogordo is 45 minutes away and has a larger rattler population. They used to have roundups. Anyway let me know.

Think back 60 years and every boy under the age of 14 did this every summer unless they lived in NYC. Crawdads, salamanders, snakes, frogs lizzards... I'm old now but I'm amazed at what young people don't know about their world. Glad you kept this as your hobby. Don't know you other than a few vids here and there but I magine you will find a way to do this full time.Seems to be what drives you. Thank you.. Enjoy your vids.
