I don't know why, but it always makes me laugh when I watch people getting reflexively startled by a hognose bluff strike. That's a snake that will definitely not bite, but it always acts like it will, and it's so convincing that people always jump. A hognose is so good at bluffing that even if people know it won't bite, it can still get them to react. After a successful bluff strike, I imagine the hognose being like "haha gottem".

You are very lucky living in Georgia where you are .Its a lovely climate great environment and a descent eco system . Where I live in the UK our reptiles are almost non existence our eco system is in a very poor state. we also have very few wild places to go to any more. April in north Georgia is warmer and sunnier that our July. What a great Hognose snake and a very beautiful water snake. I enjoy your videos keep them going.

@Uzeir Khan Thats what I mean super rare. . Near Eastbourne April 1976 I found thirty adders in less than an hour. In that same area now I am lucky if I can find one or two in a whole year. So very sad.

I absolutely love the passion you guys have - enjoying the simple but powerful pleasures of wilderness adventures and documenting the incredible creatures that lurk within. Curious about what you know about this: Another KZfaqr has repeatedly found a large number of shells of dead box turtles (over a diversity of areas) and he is convinced that disease or something is significantly diminishing their numbers - what's your take on this? Thanks!
