Most realistic? Are you kidding? I respect the quality of work coming out of this shop, but the show itself was made for drama nonsense. Drove me nuts to the point I couldn't watch the show.

I find it hilarious that they ignore your interview at SEMA when a few of you were on stage and were asked about your plans for the next season. You explained that you had a lot of cars to do and that the demands on your time made it difficult for you to dedicate to your customers, your business and your family. I admired your blunt honesty on stage in front of an audience, and not giving a flip about how others felt about your choices. I tip my hat to you, your family and tge crew at Fantom Works.

I appreciate Dan’s comments and honesty. Being a small business owner myself, I know the stress of running a business and that employees sometimes have false notions as to what it cost to run a business, pay bills, and keep things running when the cash flow is slow or depleted. The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence.

People have no idea the difficulties small business owners endure. Dan nailed it. Everyone has a hand out for donations, family members that need a loan. Not taking into account the fact that if your short 1 month. The Owner is the last guy to get paid. While assuming all the risk and bills involved. I loved this show for the realism. He didn't BS. I really do appreciate that about the series.

Dan, I am an old retired military master jet / auto mechanic and I really miss your stories. The "show" was never a show to me. I owned an auto / boat repair shop and did things like you do I was a jet mech in the USAF and did the best job I could and expected everyone around me to do the same. I am finishing my wife's 56 T-bird and If I had the bucks to have it finished I would send it to you and I trust very few people to work on my stuff. I hope you are happier now and know that myself along with many others resect and miss watching your shop and you. Thank you! I subscribed and look forward to seeing more of you!

I've always considered myself experienced around Cars & Bikes having built and restored my fair share. I commend you and your shop for doing the right thing regardless of what your clients actually want to compensate you for the work. People with deep pockets never know what takes place to do it right the first time. Besides getting the right parts and not just third party parts is the heart of a quality restoration along with the ability to see it to the end. Keep on making what makes you most content. Dan I am so impressed and feel bad at the same time. We love you, what you do and your people. Crem de la crem top shelf hope you are successful and well. From a 71 year old whose first hot rod sleeper was a late Dyna-flow 322 Buick 4 barrel with duals and a Century body. I relate to the jackrabbit starts and floor boarding from the light. The next was an Impala with a 396 375 duals Holley spread bore single line dual pumper. She smoked several (total # NOT DISCLOSED) Formula 400 Firebirds from traffic lights at various local locations. She was right dignified (blue and white, pretty car) but became a beast when floored it. Love you guys man, loved your show but YT allows you to be yourself and show what you do so well without all that vise of time and pressure. Stay well be blessed and our prayers are with you!

I appreciate you taking time to talk to me about doing a custom convertible conversion of a 1960 DeSoto Adventurer, and what you thought that would cost. The project never got off the ground, but at least I didn't get in over my head when I was only able to spend $80-$90k on a project that you estimated would cost closer to $150K. Out of all the auto related tv programs FantomWorks and Garage Squad seemed the most honest and straight up shows. With FantomWorks there was no buffoonery or phony deadlines, no berating of the work crew and no just getting by to make something work. Mr. Short never seemed to shine his customers on. Plus, there were no ridiculous and over-the-top projects. Unfortunately, I came to realize that I could never invest in a project car, no matter how much sentimental value it might have. Collectors and auctions have kicked the regular car guy in the nuts.

Loved the show, the quality of the work, the skill of the mechanics and dedication to do things right. Glad the business survived and going strong. I’m subscribed to follow you and your crew in your future projects!

You're the only shop I've ever watched that I'd take my car to. You just do great work, and you do things the right way.

One of the best no BS, nuts and bolts, realistic custom car repair shows ever done. The breadth and scope of the stuff they worked on was amazing and you could tell that the craftsmanship was top notch. Glad to see it back in a more controllable and workable format as a KZfaq channel. I subscribed and will be paying attention to an old favorite that I've missed watching. Really one of the better car shows ever done!
