Yup. Well, at least I think it is. Have to check the engine diagram to be sure.
@BlackWarriorLures4 жыл бұрын
Oh! Would you look at that! I checked the engine diagram, and there is no counter balancer. My fault. I messed that one up. The 13 hp is counter balanced, but the 8 hp isn't.
@ratoneJR4 жыл бұрын
@@BlackWarriorLures No problem. I thought the 8hp motor was too inexpensive to have a counter balancer. Maybe it is more cost effective to beef up the transom. The 13 costs more and must require a larger motor kit. Lots of weight centered above the transom on a 1436 jon can't be good.

I am using a 16 hp DURABUILT elect start and It pushes my 16 ft Polar craft aluminum about 22 on a plane with stock governor and has plenty of power. Goes where the airboats go just not over roads FLOTES IN MUD! I have the 212 predator's on some mini bikes I keep around for the holidays at family's get togethers and they are STRONG just leave the governors alone , use stabile gas treatment ,change the oil once in a while and they will last forever.

Buddy all you need to do is get a piece of 1" plywood That's as big as you're transome put it on the inside drill 6 holes through it make sure you stainless hardware silicone your holes And your transom will handle any motor that you can put on it without sinking

I seen a video where one guy drilled a hole in his transome on each side of his motor bracket half way up on the transom and then drilled threw both sides of the bench seat and ran all thread bolts with bracket plates on both sides of the transom and bench seat . 2 allthreads 4 plates and 8 nuts. I bet that thing would handle 40hp the way he beefed it up. Or it would take the transom and bench seat with it. Ha ha
@BlackWarriorLures3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. JTGatoring did that. That is the solution with these cheap jon boats. For me, I'd rather just buy an Alweld jon boat and have them triple brace the transom and use thicker aluminum.
