thanks for the video, I suggest if you can simply draw a diagram or picture to explain the relationship between each entity, such as the China Bank account, the internet Wechat Pay account, and the person's own local Credit card account in his country, ie: In Toronto Canada, etc, it will be more easily understood how the money flows, thanks!

How do I switch to english language? I have enabled it but the front page is still in chinese. Alipay help is not helpful. Also Alipay sends notification every other day or so, all in characters and cut and paste to google translate does not work Thanks!

We can speak on how we use WeChat Pay here in Canada. Yes - we can use it to buy goods and services from vendors. No, we cannot send money to another person/company unless your account is tied to a China bank account.

Hi there, if there are currency exchange costs on your credit card that would be the fee that you pay. For example, right now when you visit another country and pay by card your credit card company may charge an exchange fee. Hope this helps. Thanks!

@@CatalystAgents how safe is this ? Recently an unknown man from France cheated from Instagram asking to activate this feature and asked to send screenshot of it. Since I didn't understand it I just thought that was a scam call.

@@ugyenchoden8431 We would suggest that any verification required by the WeChat app be conducted only with people you trust. Do not ask strangers to scan your WeChat QR code online as these are frequently scams.

Hi there! Alipay and WeChat Pay are 2 separate platforms so unfortunately you cannot send money between the 2.

You can use the funds of your red pocket at a retailer that accepts WeChat Pay. For example, here in Canada, there are grocery stores that accept WeChat Pay and you can use the funds in your WeChat Pay to pay for these goods.

How to use wechat pay when outside china and no bank in china

You will need to add a credit card to your WeChat account to use WeChat pay outside of China. This will allow you to visit merchants that accept WeChat Pay (like merchants that accept Apple Pay) to use this payment method to pay for goods and services. Hope this helps!

Hi Manilyn, Mastercard can be added to your WeChat pay as well. When you are paying by WeChat pay, the fund will be deducted from your credit card. However, you can't withdraw money from the credit card and add it to the WeChat fund.

Hi there! In response: 1/ if you want to keep your personal data separate from WeChat then sure, but it doesn’t offer much difference from using an international/US number) 2/ the person scanning your registration QR code should be regular users of the app. People who are new users themselves won’t be able to scan it for you. Ie. the WeChat system will check to see if they are legitimate WeChat users that are “verifying” you registration. 3/ if you have added your US credit card to your WeChat Pay account in the app then yes.

Unfortunately for funds sent to your WeChat Pay, withdrawals aren't available to foreign bank accounts. It must be a China bank card/account.

Hi there! When someone sends you a red pocket you will receive a system notification in your WeChat app, and you have a window of time to open and deposit it. When you click on it, you can deposit it into your WeChat wallet. If you don’t currently have one, WeChat will “create” a WeChat wallet and after depositing you will see a balance. If you can no longer open the red pocket to deposit it likely means the transfer to you had expired. Note: you cannot deposit a red pocket to a credit card or to a bank account not in China.

With WeChat Pay you can't withdraw funds onto a foreign credit card or foreign bank card unfortunately. It has to be a China bank card.

Hi Sohail, once you add in the bank account or you have a balance in your WeChat wallet, you can use WeChat to send money, or you can just transfer your money to the suppliers in WeChat.

Hi Sandra, a Chinese citizen ID number is required to create a personal WeChat Channel. If you want to create a WeChat Channel for your company, it requires a business license.
