Blizzard type snow conditions on the homestead means there are extra chores and attentions needed to keep things running smoothly! Walk around with me as I showcase what needs to be done during days like this!

I love watching all the animals and wow, what a lot of work! Love how you’ve got a rhythm fir everything, simple and efficient. Looks like a wholesome full-filling way to live but definitely lots of work! 😁❤️👍🏻 🐖 🐄 🐐 🐓

It is lots of work and that's the basics that need doing daily! Usually I've got other tasks rolled into the day that don't need done daily (like today I'm moving weaned baby rabbits into their own hutch and creating a bigger brooder space for some freshly hatched quail). I love it though ! Definitely fulfilling. Thanks for being here!

I enjoyed the video today - the baby rabbits in a bowl was really cute and I love how the goats immediately jumped up to be milked.

They are good little goaties!! Sometimes the rabbits that are too big for a nest box still need a place off the wire to huddle on cold days. Rubber bowls are great for that!

Thank you! We get a few days of relative respite from bitter cold, but it looks like a polar vortex is in the works for around the 20th!

You my friend are my hero, I can't deal with the snow anymore, I did for a long time and I just can't lol... I'm not a diva I promise I just get super achy and that makes things harder. The aftermath ( of the storm) I'm still trying to recover from my sciatica attack... not fun! I always watch the videos offline ( i wdownload with YT premium) so I always think I commented but then I go thru comments and I'm like no! I haven't Sending you warm wishes my friend! Lety

I like the way you have everything setup for the animals-plain and simple. Will you put any type of heat in your greenhouse in the upcoming weeks? Also what keeps your chickens from pecking the electric cord to your waterer lol I like the beehives set up too.
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
The chickens might peck the cord but it is very strong and once they realise it isn't food they won't go for it any longer. We don't plan to add heat to the greenhouse, it doesn't really need it! The things inn there now can handle a freeze pretty well, and much of it should be needing harvested pretty soon! We could heat it if we wanted to grow things like tomatoes over winter but we can grow what we need of those kids of things over summer. 😊

How much does it cost to feed and water your animals each day... can you give me a better idea please I'm planning out my ranch house. I want animals on my farm.
@SageandStoneHomestead
@SageandStoneHomestead 2 жыл бұрын
Right now it costs around $750 a month and that includes money put away for winter hay, which we pay for 200 day's worth. We have a lot going on here and it sounds like a lot, but for what they give back to us it really is comparable to the groceries we would have purchased without the animals. I'm working on feeding more grass over the summer to cut this way down. Possibly fodder systems.
