Farmall Super C paint job plus painting tips and tricks!!

The Farmall Super C gets some paint on it! This is a pretty straight forward paint job. We wanted a clean, simple , high gloss paint job that will stand the test of time. Sherwin Williams, Sher-Kem high gloss enamel will do just that with some knowledge and basic spray equipment. Follow
along as I paint this vintage Farmall tractor and give you some tips and tricks along the way.

Another tip is to pour your paint opposite of the directions on the can label. This way, if you spill down the side of the can, you can still see your paint instructions for mixing, etc.

What does the xylene do for the paint? Is it better then using acetone?

When you used the rustoleum metallic silver, did you add any hardener?

I did not use any hardener in the silver

Well we don't haha. This is our dedicated paint area, it does eventual wear off. I do believe that we are going to start putting paper down.

Do you have to mix anything with the rust-oleum

I believe rust-open has a optional Hardner. I prefer to use the Hardner it dries quicker and has a higher gloss

Did you clear coat over the paint or did it come out looking that glossy with the base coat?

No clear coat was used. Just single stage enamel

I'm reading the comments and just want to confirm Primer, no sanding, one finish coat, no sanding, no clear coat? Last thing, for a tractor of this size did you fill up the pot?

Primer no sanding. Three coats of color. No clear. We used almost 2 gallons for the entire tractor. Thanks for watching!
