This frame looks amazing! Thanks for the video. I'm considering doing something similar, but with the legs canted outward about 10 degrees. The only issue I think I'll have is for the stretcher, which I will probably leave standing proud to avoid complicated angled lap joints. Do you think this idea would be needlessly complicated? I just like that mid century angled look... Thanks! SUBBED!

I'm a newbie woodworker, so forgive my question....but why is the bottom stretcher on the underside of the leg brace piece? Wouldnt it be stronger if it was dado-ed onto the top side of the leg brace? Lovely table and i really like the base. I qould 100% take a 'proper' table like this over an epoxy filled thing. But i get its whatever the person paying for it wants...they get 🤣🤣

No worries at all! It probably would be stronger, but underneath looks better in my opinion and with the right fit and wood glue in there it is plenty strong for the purpose.

Looks great! Sorry if you mentioned it, but any idea how many board feet of white oak were needed for the table? Love the design!
@MollyWollyWoodworking
@MollyWollyWoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
Great question, I didn’t mention it! This approximately 60 board feet. I bought 10’ boards and then when cutting my table top to rough size it left me with off cuts that were long enough to use as the legs/base. So there is minimal waste with this design as well.

I always wear gloves when working with rough lumber. Have been for 50 years. If you don't, you are going to get lots of splinters. Your hands should never be close enough to the blade that the glove is going to get caught.

Very pretty table. Until you decided to ruin it with the stain. Sorry having to say this. It just looks cheap. Oak is too beautiful. Please leave it natural. But hey who am i?
