To Mark....A 6"-8" piece of emery cloth taped (electrical tape or duct tape)to the end of a drill bit and slowly wrapped up like a "round bale" to clean out insides of small die holes. When the emery loads up tear a small piece off the end of the emery cloth off and keep on cleaning.

After hearing you read your book to us, i really want a few copies. My daughter works at a home daycare and is at the end of her junior year in college to become an early childhood educator. I believe your book will help spread many messages to young children.... including but not limited to... girls can do anything, teamwork and strong families.... love watching you Sandi and please get your book back to the printers for more copies to buy!!! Thank you

Dear Sandi, it’s lambing time at my daughters school, they’re expecting 70! Caroline’s homework this week (homeschooling) is to describe the signs, symptoms and process of lambing. It’s an “I know a lady who can help”moment! I think we’ll ace it!

We WENT DOG Shopping! LOL. ended up with a beagle mix that was free a cpl streets behind us. Here is an area that may have some validity in your operation. To help with water freezing issues in your barns. Also you would permanently be worry free in several areas. • No more lines to run over from your office to the pens. •. No more wrapping water or milk pipes with electrical heat tape. They will never ever freeze again. •. Easy to do you can do this yourself when it get warm outside. •. Decreased or eliminated utility bill for heating. Let me know if you would be interested it’s no strings attached I promise you. It just will take me some time to draw up a sketch to explain how the system works is all. I’ll look for your your reply in the comments then I’ll mail it to you snail mail. Then if you like it feel free to show it to your farming community!

I don’t handle the really cold temperatures either. Since my spinal cord injuries my body doesn’t regulate my body temperatures . So we keep the house at 65-70 in the winter/colder and in the summer it has to be 70 and under. Our heat pump and oil furnace thermostats aren’t accurate so we have a range of temperatures we try to keep it in between. Starting in May and through to October I have to really check the temperature outside because going out of air conditioned building to outside and back again really messes with my central nervous system and I will become physically sick. I have to keep special ice packs that I can wear around my neck and upper back to trick my body into thinking it’s cool enough. Going through cancer treatments both radiation and chemo treatments (2011-2019)at the same time as all of the spinal surgeries and a couple of other life threatening health issues didn’t help the situation . Plus my body has never done anything the normal way so I can’t say that I am surprised, but a few other people who have spinal cord injuries/damage have mentioned that they have similar issues with it to.

I fully agree on Carhartt. Other than initial "stiffness" best made. I don't know your pressure needs for the milk machine, but putting a small tank inside that would be filled as needed, with a pump, if needed, would eliminate the hose, freezing hoses, and the major mess if something goes wrong, as it would be a limited water supply. Easier to add water each day than clean up a "super leak mess". You are in barn so much anyway, it shouldn't go empty, for very long. My thoughts, Kevin

When I had a business that sold pugged clay to potters we stored in in an unheated place (mild climate, Victoria B. C., Canada) In the winter we kept an incandescent light bulb on in there and that was enough heat to keep the clay from freezing. If the clay froze it would be destroyed and unsaleable. We stocked hundreds of 20kg. boxes. Maybe incandescent light bulbs aren’t available anymore but there must be something that could be on in the milk closet that doesn’t draw a prohibitively amount of power and produce just enough heat to keep it from freezing. Maybe start with insulation between the frame?

I was born in Southern California, so I'm used to a more temperate climate. We farmed avocados on our 2 1/2 acre gentleman's farmer plot, so we had to be careful to protect our avocados in the winter, with large diesel-engined wind machines and oil (off-road diesel) fired smudge pots. Once in a while we'd drop into the very low 30s (F) and below. So I guess you could say that my personal comfort range is basically 40F to 90 F (90 was a very hot day in my neck of the woods. I'm now living in the state of Oklahoma, and the limits of my comfort range are frequently violated. We don't get a lot of snow, at least any that sticks around a while, but heaven knows we get the "blue norther" winds that come whistling in from the north when our temperature plummet into the 20s. In the summers, we frequently get temperatures well into the 90s (F) and now and then into the triple digits, with dew point temperatures into the 70s, which makes things very sultry and unfcomfortable. I can't say I envy you for your winters at all.

Hi Sandi, just before you started to talk about your work gear, you started saying that you were so itchy from the straw/hay you were using for bedding but you never finished. Btw, I like the "looking like 45 instead of 46" 😜 I can so relate to that.

I have car heart overalls too. Volunteer at a horse rescue. They are a different design though, but are great when it is cold. This past Christmas I got some fease lined jeans. They are great for times that are not cold enough for my over all.

I use to have to keep a fuel stabilizer in my Honda all the time between crappy gas and water in fuel. There is a screw on the fuel bowl to back out to drain the water in it.

Im not a farmer or anything dealing with animals but I do love watching your channel about sheep I was just wondering if anyone has told you to try the pool noodle to insulate water lines just take a razor blade to one end of the noodle and slice a line so the hose slides in the noodle and to attach each pool noodle with tape works where I live in the deaser of California and we do get snow so I do that to my water lines that are outside works great and cheep good luck !

Hi Sandi. Loved this vlog. Could you have Mark or Jack install an extension, Or electrical outlet from behind Gallagher cart to below big grey box on wall. I got nervous when you moved the cart, that’d hurt, and it might break your Gallagher! Ty.

Hey just a suggestion, why not cut a hole in the corn auger weld on a small hopper and put your mineral in that way? Would save trying to lift a pail over the side of the mixer every day!

Since wool is not worth so much, use it to wrap pipes to keep them warm. A heat tape on both ends should solve the freezing 🥶 issue.

Such an enjoyable video today. It seemed so relaxed and just chill, as you called it!!! Miss seeing Carissa there, but she's always going to come back, we all know this!! It's in her blood, and she loves this farm!! I have yet to stumble on a video of yours that is boring and with nothing to learn... are you even capable of creating such videos??? I doubt it!! Thanks again for yet another amazing video of Sheep Farming!! My days are complete with Sandi and her Sheep!!
