Another great video. When I was in high school I worked on a dairy farm and the 4020 was one of the main 2 tractors.

Love the old 20 series, 40,43,45,46,&50 badass American iron, made JD . Good job on getting the loader about with out a incident! 👍

Thats the way to do it, get it done when its a noise before it is a machine with so much slack in the middle your windshield touches the loader frame. Its so much cheaper and safer to do it early than it is to replace the whole thing.

The channel name is perfect! It's a whole lot of fixing, fabricating with farming mixed in and thats just how it goes on a large dairy operation.

I do center pins some. I’m a Deere tech. We put railroad jacks under the back. You did it just like we do. Except we put super big floor Jack under the front and pull it back with a tow motor. Good job sir.

This is the reason I watch this channel, you guys do it all! Challenging is to say the least, can not believe you are undertaking a job like this in your shop, even though it is probably equipped to do so, many people would have elected to send it back to the dealership for this type of service, thumbs up to you and your crew!

Excellent video when I split big center pivot tractors I try to set up a wheel system and weld it right to the framework or the drawbar support it's generally easier to get them apart then going back together the biggest thing is to make sure noboby gets pinched in there. The last one I did was a 8640 John Deere tractor I may up a wheel system with the just the hubs and spindles from a junked out John Deere disc the farmer had in his bone yard. The oscillation rear end is the trickery part on a payloader. Keep up the great videos

I work at a ethanol plant we use a Cat 924 for loading out distiller grains it's 14 years old with just under 30k hours. I also work on dairy farms with deer trackers from your videos keep the good work 👍👍👍

Stay safe Andy. The neighbor split a 4 wheel drive tractor 2 Winters ago. As he was rolling it back something went wrong and it fell off his cribbing. Luckily no one got hurt, but what a mess it was to get all picked back up and blocked up again. Of course once that it fell nothing was in line anymore

I worked on a small potato farm a few years back and they had a Case International 9350. The center pins were wore out on it every time it shifted it bang. The farmer pulled it in the shop and we started jacking it up and supporting it. It was not going very smooth and I convinced him to call the dealership for every one’s safety. They came and got it on a drop deck trailer. Long story short I believe they charged him $2000.00 and had it back the next day. I don’t know how much something like that would cost now but I thought it was pretty cheap for what they had to do including pick up and delivery the tractor even had duals on it too. Thanks Andy

Looking good I've split them many of those John Deere's I've never split one without the bucket on it but it won't be bad to put back together once it's line board but too I would check the minimums and maximums from John Deere but it probably looks like it needs to be done cuz I'm articulated loaders just found themselves apart like that looking good Andy good luck

You ever get any high school kids to do a ag mechanic apprenticeship with you ? I took ag mechanics in high school I was lucky enough to get to co OP for some local farms including my family's. I learned some tricks from the farmers but the most important thing I learned was how to improvise a repair . I think that teaching kids skills is important. I'm only 27 years old but I know alot for my age and working on the farm really gave me an edge for when I got into the workforce. Keep up the good work and stay safe !

I believe by the way the front is half way balanced it won't be to bad lining it back up. Did a nice job on taking it apart blocking it and chaining, jack stands and and all. Bad enough getting hit by small iron, that big shit will damn sure hurt you. Looking forward to the fix and reassembling it.

I had alternator spike up to 17.5 before and interesting video

Been there and done this. Real old machine, a 966 log loader and tons of hours on it. When it ripped out the eye on the bottom and the top was the pin finally just broke, it put me through the windshield and in mud and tree bark. I don't remember anything important on me getting hurt but I knew I had a wild ride.... really quick. When we would use it, those joints would really talk loud, clunk clunk... should of quit while ahead as it was the end of that machine. Everything on it matched the worn joint in those pins.... they are not all that big for how much they have to do. Now on a small wheel lift (dorky looking thing) the bottom eye ripped out so I took the very best torches I had an a lot of new steel, cut out all my metal to shape and the drilling of those holes took the longest but I squared that little machine as close as reasonable, welded the flat plates with those alignment holes... to each other cause once tacked in an all the adjusting was done, it was hours of welding to make them like each other again.

I have 2 gensets at remote radio sites, both with 6.8 L JD engines. the same engine a lot of your tractors have. one has 47,000h on it, the older one is at 65,000h! nether has ever had a valve cover off, amazing what you can do when you properly maintain a machine. they run 24/7/365 only down for maintenance.

Have split those with 3 jack stands on the rear section and a floor jack on the front, one of the better machines to split. Cab comes off fairly easy for line boring, this is a common issue on these.

I just had to replace the alternator on my big truck a thousand miles from home yesterday. They didn’t even kiss me first.

I had to replay at 13:50 to see if you said you had a bottle jack or a bottle of Jack. Not so sure I wouldn't need both! Not at the same time of course, that heavy equipment is too dangerous to be around without 100% of your senses. Thanks for another great video!
