We are having some fun with this one! We are shadowing the legendary Justin Maat as he expertly loads up box van trailers of hay with a twist. One with straps for easy unloading, the other without. It seems obvious one method is faster, but by how much?

It sucks to get old, but it's better than the alternative.

Only a couple semi loads, no big deal lol. 😂 Man you must move a lot of hay. You guys are awesome, heal up and keep the videos coming.

I ruptured my patella tendon at work in 2020. Luckily it was October so I didn’t miss any of the hay season 🎉

Honestly couldn’t be a better time for a hay farmer lol. I’m always back at nearly full swing so luckily I won’t miss it either

How much does the straps cost you? Do you pass the cost on to the customer?

Yes we do and they are usually happy to absorb it bc of the freight savings with a box van. About $100

@@FarmingInsider Box vans are not that common in the UK. Curtainsiders are much more common. Most hay and straw is moved on flat bed trailers, normally 28ft truck with 24ft trailer or similar. Semis are restricted to 45ft.
