Yoda is a fitting name for this guy. He's so chill. Its been a while since I have seen a horses hooves done. Brings back happy memories as a kid. I love that you do this and film it.

It does not hurt them. I don't know the breed. Quarter horses are very common here

I have a question,when you put the heated pedal on the horse's foot or whatever it is called,the horse feels nothing?? i have no idea of these staff and looks intereting,wish i could be part of it

Hooves are made out of keratin; the same thing our nails are made out of. This, for them, is like a pedicure. They feel nothing but pleasant. Of course, if trimmed too short, you can hit nerve endings and that will hurt the horse.

Not a lot but a good farrier can damn near name their price and its worth it. A good farrier is worth their weight in gold and it's a craft that is not seeing enough people going for so good ones are getting more rare.

How do the horses in the wild deal with the growth of their hooves then?

another youtube comment said they'd scrape the hooves on rocks and the ground, and the horses hoof growth is based on terrain. Wild horses probably dont live as long as domestic either and it might just be because they can't get their hooves repaired once its damaged

At the end there. All I could think about was how the horse looked like it was inspecting dudes work. And imagining in a person was doing that as they were getting a pedicure. Your face down by your foot next to the pedicure lady's face.

I looked it up they are called "Bell boots, also called overreach boots, are used to prevent overreaching, where a horse hits his front heels with the toes of his back feet. They can be worn while riding or in the paddock"
