The salt helps preserve the paper mache over the long term. Kind of like a preservative that will help prevent your creations from getting moldy.

I would also tend to mix only a portion of the water with the flour at first and mix this to a thick paste, before slowly adding the rest of the water. That way you don't get lots of lumps and have to spend ages stirring them out. :) This is perhaps more important for the heated method as I say it is very similar to making white sauce. :)

Yes, you can use starch. The kind of stuff that is used for ironing. It comes in jugs. Its liquid like paper mache. No need to add water or anything. Just use it right out of the jug.
@epicfantasy
@epicfantasy 14 жыл бұрын
Paper towels are definitely better to use. They will make a smoother surface on the paper mache object and if you get the paper towels with the extra strength they will be easier to work with.

Thank you so much for kindly sharing this method. I was thinking of using the "Art Attack" way of using glue+water. Luckily your video is the first video in the list when I typed paper mache. This save me a lot of time, energy to drive and money to spend on buying the glue. I used this method when helping my niece with her science project and she received an award for her project from the minister (well she was using 99.99% recycled items). This shows a simple method that works when shared can benefit many people amazingly. Thank you for this knowledge.

I usually use a cooked method somewhat like making white sauce. I've found this much better than making it cold because you end up with a smooth jelly like paste which looks more like wallpaper paste. This seems to work better in my experience having a much smoother consistency which sets well allowing one to shape and sculpt things easier. It seems to dry quicker to particularly if you use the glue when still warm. And when dried you get very consistent solid papier mache.

Sakkai Bosti 1) naan isn't left outside as a display, it's food you idiot 2) this paper mache has FLOUR in it and flour rots so obviously one would assume that this paper mache would rot 3) using slurs doesn't make you any cooler so fuck off m8
