HOW TO PAPER MACHE A BALLOON + EASY RECIPE + TIPS FOR TEACHERS AND PARENTS!

This video includes a step-by-step tutorial for covering a balloon with paper mache, along with a quick and easy recipe. (LINKS BELOW) I also demonstrate how to quickly decorate a panda's face. I include tips to use in the classroom with students, or at home with your kids.

This is a project I do in the classroom every year with my students. They spend 2-3 months researching and writing a report on an animal of their choice, and 2-3 days creating the paper mache base in the classroom. Social distancing encouraged me to create this video, so that my students would not miss out on this fun activity!

Can this be done with tissue paper? It's extremely cheap and very thin so it makes me think that it will dissolve and incorporate better. I have 2 girils, they are 9 and 2 years old. I love crafting and would love to try this with them! thanks in advance.

I’m not 100% sure on the tissue paper! I feel like it might easily dissolve and turn into more of a pulp consistency.

Hey, my balloon deflated in the morning, is it because it was helium? Do l need to start over? The paper sort of caved in : /

If it caved in without enough layers to make it sturdy then yes :/ it depends how it dried as well! You can also try and modify it or change the look. Cover certain spots with other materials depending on what you’re creating.

Hi! Nothing happens if you have a hard cast on it with the mache. It should be study if you have enough layers.
