I've only seen one video that mentioned the dual motor switch now being a button hold rather than press. It's that still the case?

There is no dual motor switch, but you do hold one of the buttons to toggle between single and dual motors, which isn't uncommon these days. With a 16 minute long video, we have to watch how much time we spend talking about each detail. It's always super tricky figuring out where to draw the line, since our audience is coming to the video with a wide variety of expectations. Some would be happy to just see us ride it and describe it. Some want details of every function within the operating system. -Paul

Unfortunately, yes. These are supposed to be fun toys and we should be able to buy and use them to have fun, going offroading and so on. Yet most of these have the same issue, they are not portable short of a large open bed pick up trucks. Having said that riding these fast when offroad, can be quite fun, like MTB. But a bicycle even many ebikes can be ridden without the power. Most if not all of these "beast" scooters cannot be ridden kick-scooter style. These should not be treated as equivalent to regular commuting bicycles, ebikes and bike equivalent escooters (e.g. emove cruiser, ninebot max G even GT1/2 etc.)

And the bringing of new regulation, restrictions and TAXES. Operating costs with my truck is no comparison.. in just monthly insurance not to mention maintenance, gas, annual tax sticker, annual safety inspection.... On medium power costs me 1 cent a mile and on high power hard riding, 2.5 cents per mile (data from 10 mile trips and charge time/power replaced @ 12.8 cents per kilowatt hour electricity). Let's keep our scooter riding free with responsibility of design/build thru to ownership/riding.

This might be your best review yet! As a smaller rider at 5'6" I cant imagine riding something even bigger than my WK GT PRO which already took a bit to get used to. After getting used to it I can appreciate its height due to the visibility factor of vehicles being able to see you while feeling like you're driving a truck. The GTR at 3 inches taller (I believe) that sounds absolutely insane and definitely catored towards taller riders imo. All in all the feature I like the most is a quality of life upgrade in the memory system. The fact that it remembers your settings is such an easy small change that I wish all scooters implemented or had since the beginning. The other change is the removeable battery so I dont have to always charge my battery outside, especially when its either too cold or too hot. A big negative is definitely the range however. To me the WK GT PRO is still the king due to its price being so much lower than its competitors for its performance. That being said I do love all the upgrades on the GTR and happy Kaabo is listening to its customers!

Just want to say firstly that I really really LOVE your reviews. They are the most comprehensive of all the primary reviewers and you guys clearly know your stuff. Now, that being said, I wanted to address a point you made dealing with the front shock adjustment and the connection to how the front tire addresses the ground. I get that the adjustment appears to mainly serve as a pre-load adjustment which boils down to a compression response that really only translates to adjusting for rider weight, and that even the lowest setting is not enough for a 165lb rider. But, then you speak of the tendency for the great power and torque of the scooter to be causing front wheel spin even when moving at speed, in particular when accelerating out of turns or going uphill. But, It seems to me that the softer to make the front shock suspension the less downward pressure on the front wheel, so when the front shock compression setting is set to the lower positions then the less pressure is being applied to the front wheel as well (certainly rider weight in that the lighter the rider as in your 165lbs factors in, in that the less downward pressure will be applied on the front wheel). So, there will be more of a tendency for the front tire to want to spin out when applying more throttle. Taking that into consideration, one way to help combat a problem with excessive wheel spin or incomplete front wheel contact is to reduce the front tire pressure. I mean you don't want to reduce it to running almost on flat, but based on tire stiffness and other tire dynamics there is usually at least a 10 -15lb range on tire pressure that can greatly aid in addressing excessive tire spin. This comes more and more into play the lighter the rider! I would explore the possibility of not setting the compression on the front fork suspension so low and then incrementally dropping tire pressure until I (hopefully) one could find a sweet spot that provides the best front wheel response to applying throttle. Keeping the front suspension more stiff should translate to helping to keep greater downward pressure on the wheel and the less pressure in the tire should help in promoting greater tire contact with the road surface. The other factor still is the tire dynamic in respect to stiffness and the fact that it is a hybrid tire which is naturally not going to have as much rubber contact with the road surface as say a good road tire. Another thing to try is to find something with a little added weight (maybe a water drinking bag/lister bag or extra tools and supplies one might need during a long ride) and strap it low on the riders side of the front forks (that's not too bulky) and that will add a bit of added weight to the front end and help provide better tire contact with the road. Thanks again for this review, it has been long awaited and as always you guys do a great job. I did have a couple of questions though. When you were turning the traction control on it looked like you were able to do so on the fly by pushing one of the buttons on the trigger but the angle on the video did not allow for us to see if that is how you did it. The video didn't seem to cut for a moment for you to go into the menu to do it so I wasn't sure if that was going to be a feature that can be turned on easily on the fly while riding or what. Also, If I heard you right in order to get the top speed of the scooter above 60mph you had to put it in S-mode and then actually hit the button on the trigger one more time before it would go above 60mph and up to 68mph? If this is true which I hope you will clarify. I would think that means that hitting that one extra time after S-mode is how you get the controller to give you that extra 10a on top of the 100a? Please help?
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide 10 ай бұрын
To get into S mode, go one click beyond 5th gear. No matter what settings used, traction control is always off in S mode, but can be enabled or disabled in all lower gears 1 - 5. So the way I would toggle back and forth easily would be to switch between 5th and S mode, which also changes the current. But going the long way around, it's also more rideable in 5th with traction control on than 5th with traction control off. Toggling that seems to require going into the P-settings, but maybe there is a shortcut. I think you're right that lower tire pressure would help launch. It would hurt top speed a little though. For testing, I always run manufacturer's recommended pressure, or if there isn't one, I use the max printed on the tire. For personal use, I run about 10lbs lower. As as racer, I can tell you that having less preload on a stiff front end is good for traction. You always want the suspension optimized for your weight. A 600lb spring or 1200lb spring will ultimately deliver the same weight to the ground. The place you can make a difference is by changing your weight distribution from rear to front (unfortunately the forks can't slide upward in the clamps to lower the front), or lowering the tire pressure as you wisely suggested. Thanks so much for the kind words. I made this review for audience members like you who love the details! -Paul

The acceleration of the Pro and GTR are awesome, I don't know if I'll ever get used to my GTP burning out and popping a small wheelie when I gun it. The top speed of both are for suicidal people though so I went into the advanced settings and changed mode 2's power/voltage settings to the same as mode 5. Then set the top speed % to max out at about 38mph. So I get the crazy acceleration but top out at a speed that feels relatively safe, but still feels fast as hell (to me) There are a lot of configurability options in the advanced menu, it's awesome to play around with them. I like peeling out and zooming away at max power, and being able to have that with the speed limited is nice. And I didn't really use mode 2, so I made its power/voltage #'s the same as mode 4 and set the speed limiter so I max out at 28mph. All the accelerate to 28mph in like 3 seconds and topping out there, it feels fun and safe at the same time.

Personally for offroad and "bad" roads. I like the trigger. Holding onto the bars so they don't jump out is a bigger priority for me and my thumbs. But my scoot is bigger with bigger tires. Only scooter platform I know with 13in tires. I want the wolf series to take on 13ins. There's also something to be said about starting and peak wattage. The motors i use start out at 5000w so they are hella torquey but don't spin out. I can't do burn outs unless i hold the scooter, but I can go up the hill with no issues at 55% grade, without loosing grip. But going around a turn with a touch trigger in traffic is spooky. The scooter without traction control will like to pull that front wheel outward, unless you push down on it. =P Also I'm a big dude, so small people would definitely have some issues. In all fairness I used thumb throttles on AVT only. I don't have any scoot that has thumb accel... Can't wait to get a wolf series.

In my opinion, 8, 10 or 11 inch wheels are cool for a 15 mph scooter. For insane speeds, and even more for offroad, you'd need bigger wheels. There's a reason dirtbikes have 21 inch front wheels.

Thanks so much for the kind words. We haven't tested the Thunder III and I'm not sure we'll get to it in the next 6 months. The GTR is just bonkers fast. The Inmotion RS has a nice blend of speed and handling. The BURN-E would also be ahead of the Thunder III on my list, but who knows if I'd feel the same way if I rode the Thunder III. Dualtron had such a lead in the market place and then rested on reputation for so long. I hope they have really made some upgrades on the Thunder III. The X-Limited really impressed me, so I know they are capable. -Paul

I need some help/ advice deciding between the Roadrunner pro and a Wolf King GT pro I ordered a roadrunner pro for local transportation and to do some doordash deliveries, but I'm wondering if I made the wrong choice. I'm 6'7 265, The rrp is cheaper and I feel like it makes more sense to sit if I'm going to be doing deliveries, but it's pretty small. The wolf king is more expensive, and the tires are smaller, but it's up higher, there are few seat attachments, and Tanakorn is making a swing arm to add larger wheels. Any advice or anecdotes are appropriated
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide 3 ай бұрын
For sure I’d go RR pro for deliveries, especially if you want the option of wearing things on your back. The pull of the Wolf King GT Pro standing up, means you’re hanging on with your hands a lot to stay connected to the scooter. The RR Pro lets you anchor with your butt so you’re just planted there when the power comes on, even if you have weight on your back. -Paul

I don’t understand why kaabo doesn’t contact you personally, and request your advice and guidance on matters of approach to the scooter design improvement, for the wolf king gtr, and future iterations of this mechanical and electrical engineering marvel. i completely agree that the trigger throttle is not something i will use, i do not like the trigger throttle and it seems that only 1 out of 40 or so people, prefer the trigger throttle over the twist throttle or up/down thumb throttle, or even the wolf king gt pro thumb throttle is still preferable over any trigger finger throttle. i sold my 60mph nami burn e, and purchased the wolf king gt pro, because i prefer the high speed rock solid stability of the wolf king gt pro. the nami felt very unstable at higher speeds, over 50 mph, and i had a steering stabilizer on the nami as well. as long as i can change the throttle on the gtr to a twist throttle, or up/down thumb throttle, or the wolf king gt pro type thumb throttle, i will be happy to try the scooter and see how i like the scooter, compared to my present favorite scooter, the wolf king gt pro. may you please consider teaming up with a design student (or a number of or team of design students) at the art center college of design, and design your own scooter, with the best design qualities that you as a racer, like most. this would be a scooter to own! because you are a motorcycle racer, you really know and understand what is needed, what works best, and what you like and dislike. for example, i never understand why so many scooters that are capable of going very fast (over 60mph) could come with terrible stability, even when adding steering stabilization. i really enjoy watching your videos, and learning from the great masters of scooter technology!

We actually got 43.2 miles on this one. The GT Pro got 55. I can't explain why this one is so much lower. It's good to keep in mind that manufacturers tend to quote maximum range, which is at something like 15 mph, on flat ground with no starts and stops, this can probably cover 60+ miles, but for me riding with city traffic at speeds just a little faster than traffic, I got 43.2 -Paul
