I love this movie! Open till this point this was my favorite movie of the franchise, besides the first one. When I saw it in the theaters, my heart was racing, and my nerves were jittery, so much action, and the stunts were incredible!

These are always my guilty pleasure films. I can't care any more less that they are stupid. My brain is usually off when I watch them anyway. The fifth one though is always a stand out and will be the one that will always hold up and get vote on a top action movie list. I still enjoy Point Break er I mean The Fast and the Furious too though

Ofcourse it’s the Best One,it’s the Movie that Balanced the Cast before it got Overblown,Dwayne Johnson at his Best before he Lost It later on with his Career just as Vin Diesel,has Great Special Effects,Elena being the Best Love Interest of Dom,has Risk and Stakes with the feeling that these Characters won’t make it,has perhaps the Most Evil Villain in the Franchise,and it’s Film in Puerto Rico which is a Place that doesn’t get much Credit,Other than Furious 7,Fast Five is one of the Few Ways to End the Series.

The first one is the best one. I believe they had to make the switch from realistic street racing and boosting because car companies put pressure on them. These companies thought their brands related being to street racing was bad publicity “very similar to Toyota saying they won’t let your cars in street racing games anymore”. So the fast series had a make over to action adventure using cars style of movies. Street racing in the late 90s was popping but the early 00s especially after the fast and furious came out was INSANE. It got so bad in California that the state came out with a law that if you were caught in a street race it was an immediate impound and the vehicle would be crushed. Cali and Texas are in talks to bring this law back for “take overs” that is happening in todays car world. So yeah that is my thought process on why Fast and the Furious switched from street racing and boosting to action adventure with cars. Oh and don’t let the muscle car trope on Dom Toretto let you forget where he came from. When he was boosting trucks wit a riced out civic with green under glow and was eating ass in street races in a Mazda RX-7.

As a former street racer, this is where I checked out from the series. I don’t really remember the 6th one at all and I only watched the 7th one because of Paul Walker’s death.

I am a MASSIVE fan of thos franchise, but I won't argue with anyone who points out the objective quality of the movies. EXCEPT for this one. I will die on a hill saying this is one of the best action movies ever

TLDR: this film made a franchise. Also solidly established the second phase of The Rocks acting career. Basically until this F&F was a; B-tier semi popular car culture film Horrible sequel A decent but unpopular spin-off A middle of the road low A-tier action film with cars shoehorned in.

Personally I would say Tokyo Drift was the best in the series. Its the last movie actually focused on racing. Fast Five was a nice change in pace though. Strong second for me.

I had the chance to see Fast Five in theaters, but I was too interested in seeing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 at the time. Plus, I didn't know nearly as much about the Fast movies at the time until later that next year when I started watching them and I saw that post credits scene with Letty. Little did I know that Furious 6 was being made and as soon as I saw that trailer, I knew I had to see it. Furious 6 was the first movie I saw in theaters and I've seen every Fast movie in theaters since (Hobbs & Shaw being exceptions since they're not part of it). Rip brother Paul

As much as i love Fast 1, it basically changed my life and turned me into a import loving fanboy. Fast 5 is the last of the series that i can watch without throwing up. I feel like The Rock ruins everything but i also know most people love him. He's a complete jack in the box and had a hand in the Maui wildfires, i can't stand him. Fast 5 is pretty good though.

This was the one that created a new fanbase for the franchise and dwayne joining the series gave it a huge boost. I was not much interested in the series. I didnt even think the first one was that great. This installment followed by 6 and 7 was where the series reached its peak

I agree while I love fast five I was starting to lose interest in the series due to the shift in focus (partially because of the quality of the need for speed series) I skipped f&f 6 and came back for furious 7 which was in my opinion the last good one and what should've been the ending of the franchise I didn't bother with the ones after furious 7

I prefer 2 fast 2 furious. I am serious. The chemistry between Paul walker and Tyrese is genuine. Better than with Vin Diesel.
