It's hard to wrap your mind around that, when really I feel like the farm girls I'm meeting here on the channel are the 50-60 'regulars' that I see (like you) through the comments. Hey Becky! Always lovely to see you! I suspect things look especially good in my Green Stalks this year because the amount of rain and cool temperatures we've had over the past month has been incredible (its rained every weekend for the past month and another 1-2 days per week. There have been a few abnormally hot days, but temps have averaged between 40-65 degrees, perfect for cool season crops). In recent years "true spring" (ya know, the kind where you can leave your windows open and enjoy a cool breeze) has felt like its only lasted a week or two. Each year the garden is different, but I'm so happy to hear you've got it going!

I make a lot of these recipes as well 😀 your space is looking so green and alive! we had ham steaks with orange honey glaze… you may recognize that from somewhere 😉 we’re having a strawberry and goat cheese salad tomorrow and the cheese is local, everything else is coming from our spring garden. Hi Lori! Haha, I love my Green Stalks because they have truly been the best solution that has given me hope (and access) to growing as a gardener without land! However, if you already have space a collection of pots and buckets is still a great way to garden and we are still gardening friends either way! I do recommend waiting to catch one of their sales (offered about every 6-8 weeks during the growing season). I'm warning you now, these things are addictive. I was supposed to stop at 3 of them!!!

The on the stove top method for the pizza and put in the oven on broil is my favorite way to cook pizza.I add a little bit of pizza seasonings in the cast iron pan and then put my dough in. I grow my microgreens inside because i have no balcony in my apartment. I grow mine with water and nutrients no soil. I grow inside with my Aerogarden and im just waiting for the day I can use greenstalk and have a patio or room outside.

I'm so happy I found your channel a few months ago and girl binge watched for days. Your love of food and excitement in every video ( I was hooked). The canning video you mentioned was truly something I was very nervous to share, but it truly speaks to the core of why canning means so much to me and how it can powerful serve your family and loved ones in ways that aren't talked about much. While we wait a few more years to move to a small homestead, gardening with Green Stalks has allowed to step into my "gardener identity" while still tucked in my townhome and honey I'm just so grateful! New subscriber here and I’ve gotta say you’ve convinced me to purchase the garden towers for my deck. 👍 I do have a few questions to ask about the towers. Are there tomato/cucumber cages specifically for the towers? Also, could I grow Brussel sprouts in the towers? I have a Red cabbage starter plant too and was wondering if it would be too large once it forms the head?

@@BecomingaFarmGirl Also after watching you talk about all the canning you do it inspired me. I did buy a presto canner (it's out of the box just still scared to use it). My story like so many others : my mom ended up with 2nd and 3rd degree burns on her legs and feet from her canner of beans exploding. She always said it was her fault, but if my Mom who canned all her life can make a mistake ... Just saying.

Hello, I’m fairly new to your channel and am loving it. I looked on your blog for a detailed description on how to make your pizza pesto, but couldn’t find it. I loved everything about this video! Always love new ideas for using homegrown veggies & herbs! I was planning to make glazed & spiced nuts tomorrow anyways so now I have an awesome lettuce wrap recipe to enjoy🙌🏻😋🤤 That deep dish pizza is amazing!!! Thank you, Deborah! This year the spring weather has been especially cooperative (it's rained every Saturday for the past month with another 2-3 rainy days during the week) and, other than a few unseasonably warm days, the weather has been between 40-60 degrees (perfect for cool weather crops). I'll start to use a shade cloth as the temperatures warm for summer, but so far so good!

I love your videos and the creative way you use all parts of food. Growing up I don't remember my mom throwing away much either. For example, she chopped up the stems of collard greens and cooked them too. Delicious and nutritious! I haven't had much success starting from seeds, so this year I tried starts. It must be what I needed for this New York City climate. They're doing well. Looking forward to a harvest!

Hi Lori! Due to my space restraints, I wouldn't be able to grow nearly as much as I am without my vertical Green Stalks! I also enjoy the advantages to growing off of the ground (less pest pressure). The ease of watering a garden (automatic drip irrigation to evenly water plants) and the ability to easily rotate and move my garden to catch the sun or shade or check on my plants. There are tons of Green Stalk videos and I certainly watched them all before purchasing my first one! I'm hooked. Their website is also a wealth of information. Keep me posted!

Oh Casandra your Green Stalks are full and beautiful. I'm going for that pizza dough recipe looks amazing. Lettuce wraps headed to the store for feta and mozzarella. Always have pecans and cranberries. Great snacking items. Texas has had so much great rain my garden is a little slow. Tomatoes filled with blooms and just forming tomatoes. Okra is up, Rattle snake beans, pole bush beans and new for me this year Rise and Shine upright summer yellow squash by Burpee Seed. Thanks for all the tips, tricks and great ideas. Donna! Always good to see you, love! Sounds like you've got lots of good things growing in your garden already. I just researched the squash variety and learned that its a bushy, 4 inch tall growing squash plant (a compact variety). Keep me posted on how you enjoy it. You can stuff, fry and eat squash blossoms too!

Hi Sarah! Awww, I feel the love! I've got lot's of Green Stalk videos coming this spring, summer and fall so, when the time is right for you, you can decide if vertical gardening with one is right for you. You really can't beat the ease of setting one up, how efficient they are to water, the reduced pest pressure and ability to easily rotate them. I'd never be able to grow this much on a deck without them. I pack out each pocket with 2-3 crops (usually pairing a taller grower plant with a shorter growing one) to maximize space even more! I think these planters are great no matter where you live. Green Stalk regularly has sales so if you can, wait to purchase until they offer them "Buy One, Get One 1/2 Off" or at a discount.Thanks for the kind words!

Hello Peggy! Aww, thank you. If your daughters are in the small space or limited with land, they will truly enjoy using vertical gardening as a workaround! Green Stalk planters don't require tools to assemble, they are durable, efficient to water, reduce pest pressure and so much more. I wouldn't be able to learn and enjoy gardening to the extent that I have without these things. I have several videos here on the channel they may find helpful!
