Last Sunday I was driving home to norwich on the A11 and a mk2 escort 1.6 ghia came past me like I was going backwards. I drive a 2 litre 170 horse power passat and although I wasn't in any hurry I was doing a perfectly legal 70 mph ( plus interest lol) this thing just disappeared. I had a 1600 ghia nearly 40 years ago and it was reasonably quick but this thing just vanished over the horizon. I could tell by the sound that it was definitely a pinto engine but definitely not a stock 1600. It was black and passed me near Snetterton. If the guy driving it sees this, which he might being an escort enthusiast, I would love to know what's under the bonnet.
