This assault rifle was used in the Vietnam War? US troops had to field strip this in the dark, in the rain, in the mud/sand, in a fire fight, in the jungle, in a swamp, in a lake/river/pond, etc. Cleaning, lubricating, maintaining, repairing/servicing...wow. The small firearms of WW2 would have been less troublesome. Good thing the AR platform has undergone generational improvements since the Vietnam War.

It was actualy not because of the rifle but wrong amunition
@hoppinggnomethe41542 жыл бұрын
@Brookie nope. the military issued ammo causes malfunction for the early issued M16 rifles. those early M16 rifles only run well with a different type of ammo using a different type of propellant. the jamming problem soon to be lessened a thousand times with the introduction of the M16A1. the majority of the troops favor the M16A1 more than any other combat weapons like the M14 or the captured AK-47. malfunction still occurs, but it's not frequent.

It’s actually easy to field strip a gun for cleaning but it gets harder when it’s a detail strip, and parts get smaller every time until the smallest part is literally a small metal bearing which is impossible to find if you drop it.

I remember when I joined ROTC last school year 2018-2019 they recruit me sa M16 assembly and disassembly tapos may training kameng ganito then kinabisado namin mga parts and nagpapabilisan kame then sa disassembly isa ako sa pinaka mabilis like my record was 7.6 seconds then sobrang poor ko sa part ng assembly naman like 13-15 seconds bago ko ma assembly yung M16 😂 then may pinaka matindi kameng training... Yung naka blind fold kame. Sa first try naka 11 seconds ako sa disassembly then pagdating sa assembly halos umabot ako ng 21.6 seconds HHAHAHHAHA pero sabi ng instructor namin greatest achievement na namin yon kase ang bibilis parin namin. Then as time went on halos nag improve kame like naka blindfold kame pero record namin lalo na ako sa disassembly ang record ko ay 8.36 seconds na then sa disassembly naka 14.68 seconds naman ako 😂 then little do I know kala ko training lang yon then ang nangyare pala kaya kame nag tratraining eh isasabak kame sa RAATI (correct me if im wrong) kung saan mag shoshow case kame ng skills and ang saya lang HAHHAHAHAHHA

She's definitely not familiar with the weapon. To strip the bolt carrier, you don't need to fumble with it like that, once you remove the retaining pin, just flick the bolt carrier backwards with your hand at the back. The momentum will cause the firing pin to slide out into your hand, then you tilt the bolt carrier to the left and smack it into your palm, this will cause the cam pin to drop into your hand, then a final flick forward to let the bolt drop from the carrier, so basically you just flick 3 times to disassemble the bolt carrier, not try to pry everything out by hand. 9-12 seconds should be how long it'll take you to strip the M-16. And she didn't even place all the parts properly, just dumping them on the table.
