They are beautiful, all the Italian AV trains are brilliant, I prefer the old ETR 500's though, something very solid about them. And still 300kph. Haven't tried the FR 1000 though...

@@fabiancillox1 I'm from Milan and the subway is almost always on time and very efficient for example, the frecciarossa and the other trains we use to travel on long distances are always on time

So what's the point of taking the train if with a car you can travel a lot faster?

Because cars kill tons of people and animal, pollute the environment, make a lot of costant noise in cities, take up city space which could be used waaay more efficiently for anything else, cost us a lot of money to repay streets, bridges and all the infrastructure, makes cities worse to live in for anyone else, and even for drivers themselves as the more cars the more traffic, and i could go on for an hour. For specific cases, like you live in the countryside, you need to move lots of stuff around cars can actually make sense, but not in the quantity they are used anywhere around the world. Especially when most people drive alone, only to do so basic commute which could be easily be done by trains / busses if government invested more in public transit

There's more space. Ours are built to an old loading gauge. Nice enough, in first, but not a spot on the Italian offerings. And you need a mortgage to travel on ours. Where I live, our outer-suburbans run at 180kph, now, but in those the difference between first and standard class is the colour of the seat coverings. They are often about as comfy as German S-Bahn. Meaning not very comfy at all. I've used Italian and German high-speed (ICE3 Cologne-Frankfurt) and French TGV's which I love. Got onto the platform a bit early for a Paris-Bologna trip, some changes needed, of course, and asked the conductor if I could take the train standing there. Three trains before mine. "Bien sur, m'sieu!" she replied, No hassle, no quibble. She was also able to tell me how I could get to Bologna earlier using her train. And it was her train too, she was proud of it, and well she might have been.

Martin Sorensen I have to say Japan has got my heart overall because they are just precise when it comes to engineering. Don't get me wrong so are the Italians I've lived in Italy 14 years😊

But not the UK where we still struggle to get over 200 kmph.

200 km/h is not bad and still better than in my country, Denmark where max train speed is only 180 kmh and only half of our railways are electrified. At the same time our goverments have spended a vast fortune on warfare in Iraq and Afghanistan in a childish attempt to impress larger countries especially the U.S. and check out the danish IC4 scandal as well.

"L'urlo" dei motori delle locomotive dell'ETR 500 e' qualcosa di fantastico...da' veramente dipendenza!!! Purtroppo sui treni a potenza distribuita non si sente quasi nulla.

ciaoo!! :) io ho la testa MVH500AH dal 2013 e non mai usato altro, testa a dir poco fenomenale.. pero' io uso un elastico attaccato con una fascetta alla fine del manico perche' odio le microvibrazioni della mano, elastico o di quelli verdi grandi o anche piu' sottili ma devono essere abbastanza lunghi per garantire buona "manovrabilità" della testa, ci vuole un po di pratica ma quando ci prendi la mano con la tecnica dell'elastico non ne farai piu' a meno!
