Fast-Tube™ is a revolutionary column form replacing cardboard tubes (SonoTubes) to form concrete columns for residential or commercial use.
Manufactured from high strength fabric, Fast-Tube™ comes on rolls of 120' and in diameters ranging from 6" to 24".
As Fast-Tube is shipped flat; it is 1% the space of Cardboard tubes.
Fast-Tube is quicker to install than Sonotubes, and results in no waste as you cut your columns to an exact length.
Fast-Tube is completely waterproof, and as such can be set up weeks in advance.

Agreed! You only need to look at the disaster in Haiti to realize the importance of reinforcing steel. In this video, only one piece of steel was required to support the homes deck. This was placed immediately after concrete was placed. If more steel is required, this is installed before concrete placement.

The contractors placed a single rebar reinforcement into the columns immediately after the concrete had been poured If a large cage is needed the Fast-Tube and 2X4's can slide over top of the reinforcement, before pouring concrete.

Nice job mate , but I'm concern that it doesn't blow out at the bottom etc and what about the join where the 2x4 is it would leave a crease mark up the entire column . It looks good so round the camera all the around ,thanks and keep thinking

Rebar can be installed before or after the pour, depending on the requirements. In applications where a single piece of rebar is needed; it can be carefully pushed down the poured column. In situations where more rebar is needed; Fast-Tube can be slid over top of steel reinforcement, just like cardboard Sonotube. We recommend the contractors place a jacket on top of the rebar cage to prevent any damage to the fabric.

@PenningtonInc You could make a hybrid solution using both a rigid form and then using Fast Tube the rest of the way. If it's a 12 foot column and you only need the first 3 feet in a rigid form you still save a lot of time and money.

I like this idea...what about re-bars cage for earth quake zones or loaded construction. The cardboard tube can slide over re-bar cage without ripping on metal wire tie wraps. Can this product slip over a re-bar cage to form a column? Probably a removable cardboard/plastic guide at the top of column re-bar cage to slide the plastic over the re-bar cage, then nail to 2 x 4" support ? Any help here? I have to construct 12' x 14" columns to support concrete floor

I'm sure an ordinary rebar cage imbedded in the footing could be accommodated with sufficient diameter/clearance. Like all ads, things are simplified

So how is that tied into the footing? Is there rebar extending up out of it? How many feet are needed to support a column like that?

smart, its just smart. i carry a blackberry to work as a carpenter, use lithium ion cordless, drive a car with EFI, why is most building technology still doing things in the dark ages. Fab-form is really basic, yet highly advanced. smart!

Interesting, I would have liked to seen how you can vibrate it to get the air pockets out as well as finish product.

You can vibrate Fast-Tube without issue. But because it is a soft form, many contractors tap the column with their hands as it is being filled. You do not have that option with a cardboard sonotube.

Sonotubes come with rain guard built in. But I do like your product. Just one question. If rebar is needed how do you make sure that it stays 1" minimum in from the outside edge? Yes I usually ask dreaded questions lol but they are constructive questions that will need real world answers on a jobsite.

These are the best questions. Rebar should always be required in vertical column work. For large cages the base of the steel is tied to the footing steel. 1" spacers can still be used with Fast-Tube at the top, but you may get some dimples occurring. For most applications a single piece of vertical steel is required. This can be installed before or immediately after concrete placement.

Convince me on how a wetter mix doesn't spill out from the bottom. I just doesn't seem that easy! Maybe it is. We just did a project with 42 Sonotubes at 14' high with a rebar cage.

A wetter mix will spill a bit more concrete out of the base of the column. But once you have about 4" of concrete in the column, gravity will force the column to prevent leakage. You will install rebar prior to concrete placement. If it is a large rebar cage you would install this first, then slid the Fast-Tube overtop.

EXACTLY ! You can sandwich plastic between two 2x4 (like they did, betting they seen someone do this and stole their idea as their own to profit from)and get exactly the SAME outcome...I am betting MUCH MUCH MUCH cheaper then buying this Scam BS

+Gus Chavez Vertical rebar is slid down the Fast-Tube prior to the concrete pour. If a more detailed rebar cage is required; Fast-Tube is carefully slid over the rebar cage prior to the concrete pour.

You always need 2x4's in construction. So they will be reused at some point later on in construction.

This isn't fast, not in the slightest. Not only does it take a supporting structure, but it also has to be built by hand, individually. How would this be used in the ground?

+Cindy Collins Fast-Tube is 1% the weight and space of cardboard column forms. Fast-Tube is undamaged by moisture so it can be set up months before a concrete pour. It also strips away from the concrete in a fraction of the time compared to removing cardboard. Should I keep going?

Who do you know that puts up forms weeks/months in advance???????????????? Exactly how long does it take to break down in nature compared to cardboard?????It certainly is not faster to get put up!!!! Compare total times of both....

So whats difference in the laying it under your home and putting it in a land field??They both are in the damn ground either way. I thought card board broke down much faster then "plastic" so that whole better then using card board tube idea is pure BS.. This must be one of them scams like billy mayes commercials , was waiting for the person to push out his hands with palms up like that con always did LMAO

Fast-Tube is made from high strength polyethylene, so it can be re-used underneath the slab as a dampproof membane. You cannot use organic material, such as cardboard, to act as a dampproof membane.
