For today's video I thought I would dive into a little tip that some people might be aware off and some might not and explain some of the science behind how you can speed up rooting in your water propagations
This method is essentially releasing a plant growth hormone into the water naturally and helps to speed up the rate that your cuttings develop their roots.

Personally, I love the longer videos. Obviously the content has to be interesting. Plant hacks and care are always great. Often videos for care are general care. Myself, I would love to see more in depth plant care for specific plant types.

Yea, I generally think that 15-20min videos is the sweet spot for planty content. However, saying that, I REALLY also enjoy the long and in-depth chore style videos. I always get some of the best tips and tricks out of watching people re-pot, dealing with propagations, making different types of moss poles or planks etc..but so far I've enjoyed everything you've put out sooo😄💚

@@Houseplantygoodness WOW, perfect timing! Just bought my first bag of lechuza, but so far I just wanted to test it out on some propagations. Can't wait!👀💚

I did the same thing just following my instinct. It works. Just one little thing - how to speed up the very first cutting. I use a bottle with the neck thinner than the bottom. And the first cut goes in there in a hanging position, the end in the water, and the nod with potential roots a little bit above. The space between water and top of the bottle has a greenhouse effect. The roots are coming faster in comparison with the cutting when the nod was submerged.

Very interesting, I usually put a little bit of rooting hormone in the water and then keep the vessel on a seedling mat. I'm going to try your method!

I live in Miami flordia and I will say it’s not too invasive here but if it’s put in the sunlight conditions it definitely could be. I see Hawaiian pothos (which often gets confused with golden pothos) around a lot! And the leaves grow pretty large 😍

Absolutely true, in Florida we consider it an invasive species if grown outdoors in the ground.

Yeah, I am currently rooting Syngonium Albo, Three Kings, Llano Carti Road, Rayii and Lance Leaf. And I am SUPER IMPATIENT to get at least an inch of roots so I can get them into soil. I had heard this previously, but had forgotten about it, and this vid reminded me at the perfect time. So thanks for that. Fingers crossed that I have a big Syngonium addition to my collection here very soon.

OMG OMG - I still look curiously into these roots! It's good that the water needs to be changed. I try to do it every few days. How good to see you in the new year - I missed you! 🤩 I didn't know epipremnum worked like that. We use tradescantia (they are cheap and grow quickly - recommended because they quickly release this hormone into the water). When the roots, depending on the seedling, are a few cm long - I put them in lecca or PON a plant in pebbles gets a kick like a shot!🚀
