Fast Way to Raise Your pH With Liquid Lime and Fertilizer for Better Food Plots

Not all liquid lime and liquid fertilizers are created equal. Some leech through the soil and are gone way too fast. This product stays in the root zone much longer so plants can benefit faster and jump up sooner. The liquid lime is great for helping plants get established in low pH and sandy soils. Liquid fertilizer and lime is cheaper and easier to carry than hauling dozens of bags of fertilizer and pelletized lime. You can run the liquids right through your current sprayer so no additional equipment is needed. Leftover liquid lime or fertilizer is easy to store for the following year without going bad.

Randy another great video as always. Nice to see Brad's name getting out there. He is a wealth of knowledge and doesn't mind sharing it . Gallons per acre is much more economical and made my life easier with the food plots.

Seems like water is the limiting factor IMO on your testing. I think just to be consistent maybe next time spray 30 gallons of water over the pelletized area as well as what you put in the liquid fertilizer area. Also touching on the science of why the liquid is superior to granular.

use no fert and top dress with hay or straw. fert once you start getting rains.I use to do lots of hydroseeding and used liquid lime it would become a solid in the jug so not a big fan. other thing its nice to know your soil but does each plant need the same thing....?

Interesting, I need to learn more about this. I think one thing guys struggle with, including myself is understanding a soil test and what you need to do to make amendments and fertilizer applications. I’m assuming Brad has these products available for sale? How do costs compare to granular ?

I have to disagree with the statement made around 08:25. A nitrogen deficiency symptom will show in the older leaves first of the plant as nitrogen is a mobile nutrient. This means that the plant is able to translocate the nitrogen from older leaves to newer leaves. Thus, the yellowing will be observed on the lower/older leaves of the plant. My guess would lean more toward a sulfur deficiency but only a soil test would be able to give a dedicated answer.

How long do the results of increased ph last?

If your organic matter is low and you till the ground, it will last a few months. But if your organic matter is high and you go no till, it will last the whole growing season. Any year you want to raise the pH, just add some liquid lime to the tank and spray it with the fertilizer. Much cheaper and easier

Nope! Leave the grass and weeds. Seed over grass and weeds. Use a roller and roll the grass and weeds down. Then herbicide. Then fertilizers and water. The dead grass and weeds serve as mulch. And you don't lose topsoil tilling! You create new topsoil. that stays wet much longer and much better water penetration deep in the soil. It's the only way to treat the soil. That is if you want good soil! This guy just trying to sell product!
