I’m traveling. In my hotel room, I could get wi-fi, but couldn’t connect to the internet. The problem was there was no “WPA2/WPA3 Personal” listed under security in Advanced Wi-Fi. Somehow your video helped. Thank you.

What happens if it assigns the same “192” IP adress again. It didn’t change to another IP. Does the wifi have to be your own personal wifi or can this work on public wifi?

This didn't work for me. In case it didn't for you, i'll share what worked in my case using a Macbook Pro with OSX 10.10.11 After speaking with ISP and troubleshooting til i found it was a USER problem (booted system with CMD+R and through the internet option i could finally navigate online, as well i opened a new user account and everything worked) i could then move on to my account settings. After speaking with Apple's technician, he figured out it could be a corrupt script. Indeed it was. Located here: MAC HD> Library> Preferences > System Configuration. Then DELETE "networkinterfaces.plist". Open System preferences and delete ALL previous known networks in your WIFI list. Create a new location and add your network. That solved my problem :)
