What an incredible follow up shot, they separate a seasoned ethical hunter, from a young aspiring hunter. I never took the follow up shot, mistakes made, and it soured me on hunting for 8 years. We have a den located near our land, and love to watch them cross the paddocks. You could time a watch by their movements. The fox is quite a rare thing in Kentucky, not keeping stock that is threatened by them, I let em be, That said, if I raised small stock or game foul, I wouldn't be so passive. Coyotes on the other hand... The fox hunt's around here actually train the hounds to track em, the large population makes for an interesting hunt.

It's all a question of circumstance, I like seeing the foxes too I just keep them under control as we have a LOT of them in the UK especially in my area. They are crafty devils but their weakness is, as you say, habit. They tend to stick by a routine, learning it and out witting them is really good sport :)

Greetings From America! 😂😂. Quickest...😁 Watching the fox just meandering in the pasture...thought what? 😁 Seeing the wait...thinking it's the worst time, nerves and anticipation building!!! Then the second shot...thinking maybe it was on the run.... It was kinda of a.... quick clip Sam. but that...waiting is a marksman worst enemy! Try just a quick glassing of the surroundings...the lambs, the hedges, the back drop.. but don't stray too far from the 🦊. Breaking that "wait" up a bit by not holding "on target" helps stop the over anticipation that creeps over one... 😃 Nice! none the less! Best Wishes Sam....

Why wouldn't you want to wipe them all out if they are taking lambs? Leaving even just one fox can still kill a newborn lamb...

I can’t wait until I can buy my first rifle. Need some land or a farm willing to let me shoot on however.

Love the videos! I can’t wait until I am able to apply for my firearms license or section 2 shotgun - I am under the Staffordshire Police so near the west midlands, hopefully their stance is alright. Is there an age limit on actually applying for a FAC or SGC? I am currently 16 (17 this year) and am wondering what the laws are as such (unsure even though I have read almost all forums possible).

OTD J Thank you for the help! I really appreciate it. I’ll get back to say how things go! Thinking of joining a club very soon anyways!

best way for a beginner is to join your local clay pigeon shooting club [shotgun]and your local rifle club and learn all you need to know from experienced shooters especially the safety aspect. remember its not hard to have an accident with a gun. Get trained !!

A thumbs up on your video but can I ask how come you didn't upload the footage from your camcorder when you first filmed the fox? It would of made it that much better.

What part of the West Mids did you record this? Looks familiar.

Hi, just stumbled across your channel... I think it’s because I was watching hunt saboteurs.. I am a townie from London and I was wondering , why do people hunt foxes and kill them? Not for their meat.. is it because they kill lambs? Thanks

Foxes are vermin and have to be controlled. You choose either a proactive method like fox hunting or a reactive method like fox shooting.

Can you own lever action rifles there?
@srspower5 жыл бұрын
Yes for target shooting, for hunting too but that's not as easy.
@alanbush41924 жыл бұрын
we can have .22 /.17 hmr in semi auto/bolt action /pump action/ lever action. in higher calibres its anything except semi auto and we can use sound moderators [silencers] on every thing. Semi auto shot guns restricted to 3 shot on shot gun licence [section 1] . unrestricted on fire arms licence [section 2]

Off topic sort of, but I'm, sure everybody knows about the decomposing fox video featured in the video for Hurt by Nine Inch Nails and ET by Katy Perry. I was thinking, you kill enough foxes, why not make a decomposing fox video of your own? Maybe several foxes at once. We get to see it first.

silly boy if its zeroed at 50/200 its only going to be I" high at 100 and that's nothing. Too much time to evaluate the shot time for doubt to set in. dam those sheep. was out shooting rabbits the other day with cz .17hmr out the window of my 4x4 [getting old] when I looked out over my right shoulder there was a spooked fox bolting across the field towards me I opened the door and stepped out the fox turned across in front of me giving me a right to left crosser broad side shot looking through the scope I swung through gave him lead and BANG down he went at 60 yds. as a door nail. Did I have a witness yes I did except the silly bugger was looking the other WAY!!!! by the way I am a AA class clay shooting instructor that might have helped a bit .one things for sure that's a once in a lifetime event that fox was in the wrong place at the wrong time What calibre you rifle? PS like ya vid
