I've recently seen the SciCraft video on this farm design and tried to rebuild it by myself but I found that the creepers simply don't spawn inside the boat bounding boxes. I tried it in an empty world on Y level -63 in a plains biome in the spawn chunks. Every single place on the spawning platform has light level 0. I don't get any spawns except if I remove the boats... I'm still in 1.19.2 (Java Edition). Edit: Alright guys, don't use Flowering Azalea Leaves, I rebuilt the whole thing with Oak Leaves instead and now it works...

Just finished my 500x500 perimeter and am ready to start making farms! I want this farm, a slime farm, and some others that lead to the same storage, all in different quadrants of the perimeter. I feel that it's just too big for this idea, so if anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated!

Although this won't work for you there either, but arma for wood through bamboo, you will be able to switch through autocrafting if you want to craft blocks of bamboo, wood, stairs, etc.

Before I build this farm it works in 1.20? And I need to use oak leaves instead of azaleas? Does it also have to be in a complete perimeter? Or can I just dig out the area for spawning pad and light up caves all around my area?

It works well just make sure that if you are making it in a perimeter to break EVERY spawnable block other that the ones in the farm. Anyways great tutorial keep it up and thank you!

hey im having this problem where the shulker box isnt breaking at all so I don't l know if I did something wrong and I went all back to the the redstone part and its still not doing anything and I also tested something where I put a redstone block on the redstone and it broke the shulker boxes but I dont know how to automate doing that so basically im asking how did you power the shulker breaking part because whenever I add a redstone block it destroys a shulker and places one back

I built this farm in my fabric server(1.20.2) and it works well. it makes so many gunpowders than I expect. actually, I made simple chest storage instead of the massive shulker box loader. If you don't wanna make shulker box loader, you can use chest storage system(it need lava or fire at the end of the ice path. because chest storage will be full of gunpowders.) THANKS FOR THIS AMAZING FARM!!

I built this farm on a server and got in trouble because the server anti-lag rules had a transportation entity limit of 6 per chunk, and the plug-in didn't despawn the boats since they were placed by dispensers, so I was accused of "bypassing the Entity cap". I have since redesigned the farm with fewer boats, and cats to chase the creepers into the remaining boats. This increased the farm's time to kill, but didn't effect the efficiency much.

I have a weird issue.. While doing the boat part, i sometime try the boat by going into it. I found out that i can go in the boat right after spawning it, but if i break the button i cant go in the boat...

I am having trouble with the minecart of the collection system getting stuck in the dropper or dispenser when i afk in the overworld. I can only fix this by flicking the lever twice on the noteblock so that the minecart goes to collect the drops again (this part works fine as long as i stay in the nether). Is there any way to fix this?

I think the minecart not being placed by the dispenser again only happens when i leave the nether at the same moment of the minecart breaking on the amethyst. Looking out for that when leaving seemed to fix it.

Great tutorial but I didn't check the slime chunks when making the perimeter. There are 3 slime chunks where the farm should be. Should I build the farm? or should i just make an another perimeter with being careful for slime chunks?

Slime chunks doesn't matter. They can't spawn in a 2 blocks high area. They need at least 3 blocks because Minecraft tries to spawn a big slime. If the spawn is possible, then the game spawn a slime with a random size. But if a big slime can't spawn, then a small one can't spawn either

If you don't have a shulker shell farm, you can make a simple storage system without shulkers

Does it work well if I build it on water? I have but it doesn't seem to produce very quickly. To have maximum efficiency, does it have to be built at bedrock level? It has a perimeter of water. There is no land anywhere around, but it doesn't seem t produce very much. Edit: I also have a problem with zombie pigman coming through even though there is no portal access below the bedrock in the nether. I have no clue where they're coming from.

can reduce effort by using bottom slabs for the whole platform at the level of the portals instead of solid blocks with buttons on top also if anyone is playing in 1.16 or a version that doesn't have waterlogged leaves, you can use a scaffolding and a bottom slab on top of it instead of leaves and sea pickles. you just have to bucket out the water after dispensing the boat. you probably could use slabs instead of sea pickles in any version but i have only tried it in 1.16.3 and it worked there

Notice: I just upgraded the farm, so that creepers, zombies and skeletons can spawn in it and it produces around 160k items/h. Just leave the trapdors out and build an elevator at high 57 to 71 with an automatic clock. That will alwase refresh the farm, so that baby zombies don't fill up the mobcap. Also make sure, that your render- and simulation distance is on 12. Hope that helps you.

For anyone wondering about the answer to this even though it's 7 months late...... the Nether side of the farm (collection), will be automatically loaded with the Creepers flowing through the portal. As long as you AFK, the collection side will take care of itself.

Im late, but does the farm work if i build it a block or two higher? I want to transform my perimeter into a big creeper face, and lay water on the floor, so no mobs spawn, does it change a thing? Instead of using buttons to spawn proof the portal platform, can I use tinted Glass? I know that transparent blocks are not spawnable, and tinted Glass blocks light. The server I'm playing on has infinite glass blocks, so this could save me some work.

For some reason, random sections of boats are going missing, causing creepers to build up in a little area. Anyone else had this happen? I'm having to go below the farm and redispense a boat several times. It's not the same area each time, it's usually a 2x2 or 2x3 section of dispensers.

Hey kelp can i built this farm above ocean......it doesn't matter rates go down to 100k or less, main reason is that I only have a 6k gunpowder generating farm even though I build 4, 10 floors tall tower for that 😅. Its not like I don't have a peremeter but it's currently contains a slime farm so, plz give answer if I could

On the ocean it produces 10,000 items per hour. I think is a lot of work for an amount of items you can get with an easiest design

No, because baby zombies doesn't ride the boats so they fill the mob cap and the farm stops working

My farm is also spawning zombies, skeletons and enderman somehow, does anyone have a fix

Tip: you can just make border in the deep ocean, then you can drain it and make there small hole of few chunks and then build it there.

You can, but probably you will need to spawnproof a little bit some caves around the farm or make the afk spot higher

It wont work nearly as well above an ocean, perimeters are built because mobs spawn faster, the lower in the world you go, and to go low and prevent spawns anywhere else, you need to destroy every block in an 8 chunk radius from where you are standing. So In short, yes you could technically build it above an ocean, but your rates will not even be a fraction of what the rates in a perimeter would be

You can make it smaller, of course the rates will not be the same, but if you build it, come back and tell us the size and how many items it produces per hour :)

@@KelpMC thanks. I have a small space in the middle of a cold ocean from 42/42 to bedrock. I'm looking for a good creeper farm and this one looks really good. Normally I exposed all the caves and they have all been filled with torches. Will it still work? Thanks for the great video btw

@@KelpMC is it also possible that if i instal the perimeter datapack, and just dit out the Necessary size. Because the Spawn Size is in a Globe around us right? 128 to Each side
