Apple hid a special M.2 NVME port beneath solder mask for both 21inch and 27inch 2019 iMac. We have proved that both ports are actually functioning, and you can run either single or dual NVMe on both ports. Stay tuned as we will release a complete guide (where to get the components, etc) on how to install a Fusion PCIE slot & Hidden M.2 NVMe slot on 2019 iMacs.

Wow, so cool. I upgraded my late 2015 iMac 27” i7 with a Samsung 2TB Evo 970 Plus SSD and I get slightly above 3,000 MBps read and write speeds. Seems the 2TB drive does really well.

thanks, which is the temperature of the card when it is quiet and under stress? do you need a heatsink?

@@gianlucab9204 I didn't add a heatsink and it has worked flawlessly. I am not aware how to find the temperature of it. The fan is generally quiet in this iMac (not any difference from before).

for ssd longevity, all should be used with heatsink. but Samsung 970 might be a good choice.

Hi there! no its not possible to create a RAID 0 and install macOS inside the volume. you just make it RAID 0 and use it as storage(scratch disk)

I will send you my iMac 27 late 2013. How can I make it super fast? GPU, Dual CPU, RAM, SSD .. what else? I dont want to buy a new mac since I am not using apple actual sceeen, I hide my iMac underneghth the table like a PC (I have external monitors) & The new models you are mainly paying alot for the screens.

Hi, very cool.Could you do a RAID on that to make it even faster? By the way, I plan to use the Sintech ST-NGFF2013-C adapter (it's like a flat bed truck) to upgrade the 128GB Apple Blade with a M.2 Teamgroup M.2 NVME 1TB that has this dimensions: 80(L) x 22(W) x 3.8(H) mm Would that M.2 NVME SSD fit and be ok? Also, do I need to buy the plastic cutting wheel. I have a guiar pick and old credit cards. Thank you. God bless, Rev. 21:4

hi, unfortunately that machine has been returned to its owner for quite some time. we will post the RAID results when we get one back., the standard SSD is 2230 size, which size is that teamgroup m.2?

@@iBoffRCC Hi. 2280 is the size (This Teamgroup NVME have good reviews, 5 years warranty). I was going to choose ADATA XPG SX82000 Pro but they changed the new ones to a slower controller.

@@SevenDeMagnus okay we never tested if TeamGroup NVMe will work, but so far we never get any new generation NVMe not working with macs. so yeah, you definitely can try it, and yes, sintech/NFHK adapter can be use. its better to buy the pizza cutting tools, it makes everything much safer and easier

How come at 7:36 it says no external drive connected but at 7:34 you can clearly see your external drive connected sitting right there.

that is keyboard and mouse USB cable. the external drive sitting there is SATA drive, NOT NVMe. the only way to connect external NVMe is by using USB-C which is no where to be found at 7:36
