In a good number of countries, the costliest Macbook pro costs more than the annual income of a person... There's no attribute which gives me a hint that Apple cares about the world... It certainly knows how to act though. Plus look at MacOS's usability (in terms of software UX design)... It's barely as user friendly as Windows and Android... It's 2024, while Apple launched "Apple Intelligent", their OS' aren't intelligent enough to know when a user hits Return (or Enter in Windows) it means the user wants to click the primary button in a prompt..(they are certainly good at naming things different, if not properly). Apple doesn't know how to select multiple files in a folder using just the keyboard and not the touchpad/mouse/mice.

MacOS Sonoma is using about 1GB SWAP Memory being Idle, and my Macbook has 18GB of RAM and barely gets to 8GB of usage. There's something wrong on how MacOS manages this SWAP, when anything gets close to de 40% of RAM usage, the SWAP kicks in immediately.

Just watched this! How hard was it to do the mod? Did you also replace the 4 (?) RAM chips for more memory? Thank you

Just don’t buy one. They killed 32-bit libraries as an extremely heavy-handed solution to the 2038 problem so half of your steam games will break even with that Proton thing making it usable outside of Windows; as it is they can’t run anything more demanding than Minecraft without exploding in a fiery inferno. Best way to play games on a Mac is to use it as a mousepad for your Windows/Linux rig

Can RAM be changed and repaired if it's faulty or does the entire logic board need a replacement?

Old intel macs will remain king for a long time. You can get a maxed out mid 2015 MBP and use a 6900 XT eGPU to basically make it as fast as current MBPs

Apple being apple.. making upgrades and repairs impossible, illegal or infeasible. If there's a way to screw customers out of money, apple will do it. How do they keep getting away with being so scummy and environmentally unfriendly?

it's important to understand TBW are very conservative, the MacBook in this video had exceeded its TBW massively, by nearly double all while maintaining 80% SSD health, if you're buying a MacBook to use it like an iPad and you just want the larger screen, physical keyboard/trackpad and just prefer using them to navigate an OS then a 8GB Base MacBook will do you just fine, if you want the MacBook to last you "forever" then get AppleCare on the yearly subscription and have peace at mind it can break whenever and you'll get it repaired.

Seems like capacitor rot is still a thing after that late 90's early 00's debacle. At that time almost all pc brands used crappy electrolytes witch resulted in a lot of broken pc's but even vcr's stereo equipment an so on.
