When I worked at TA as a night shift shop mechanic. They had a rep come out and "certify" us in king pin installation. He didnt show us how to do it, he just stood next to a truck for 5min, explained how to do it, and thats it. I still have that certificate somewhere, and I've never replaced one to this day. I do not miss that place.

I remember buying an old E350 Ford van and it had locked up kingpins and I took tranny fluid and put it on top of the kingpin let it soak in ,it was a bear to drive for a couple weeks until it loosens up

i had to yank my front axle assembly and take it in to have the one pin removed with many tons of persuasion because of no antiseize being applied.. but i am in the rust belt,... lol. otherwise it was ez and cheap if you have to tools!

I'm getting king pins on my international. New gear box. Steering pump and filter. Binds up under a load and won't turn both ways full rotation of Steering wheel and tires. Moron at dealer didn't test drive after doing pump. He missed gear box and king pins. I found the issue loaded at 78k with sugar and trying to make a right hand button hook and could get wheels to turn.
