Holy crap - we need to get a packet out today! Let the clip cube help you lay out elevations and plans quickly. No hybrids here - don't tell my mom.

Clip cube is a life saver sometimes for quick plans. You can also easily adjust the section cut lines you put on a seperate layer, also for depth and the viewport will update automatically after pressing update

Thanks for the great video! I will have a peek at your (and others) videos to find it, but looking for clip-cube diagonal views. meaning not the simple 90 deg cube as shown here. I'll root around and look for it. Cheers J

@James McKernan When you click on the Clip Cube to activate it - there appears a teal diamond at the bottom of the cube surrounded by 4 blue dots - grab one of those dots to rotate the cube. Grab the Diamond to move the whole clip cube. It's always a cube, but you can rotate and reposition it as needed. Hope that helps.

Is there any way to control the line weights of objects in the elevations? I'm a set designer & use up to 9 different line weights to show different surface changes & have not found a way to do this with section elevation viewports or by using clip cube.

@JerryHall Select your viewport and look at the bottom of the Object Info Pallet for Advanced Options. In here there is an option to use original classes instead of the Section Style class (Under display tab I think) . I believe doing this will stop Section style from overriding the display and you should get your line weights back. Not in front of VW right now, so you'll have to test this theory.

Do you ever show your stuff that is above the cut line? i.e. the crown moulding but in a thinner line/ is there a way to do that when you use clip cube?

@Liz Gubler. Hi! Clip cube won't let you do it automatically. You have options: you can draw it in as an annotation (tracing off the 3d) or you could do another viewport via clip cube higher up and then stack the viewports (adjust opacity to taste). On most shows when I have the time, I would make each wall a hybrid symbol and draw out the details I want, but this tutoral is about more speed. You should also look at Auto hybrid symbols which let you define a height above cutline to show as dashed lines, but I'm not a big fan of letting VW pick my lines for me.
