Lead base paint on houses was removed because the cia could see through it. Infrared cameras down the street were impaired from use through lead. And criminals not only figured that part out, they found out the dish with audio recording were easily blocked with a fish tank pump with suction cups stuck on a window and they couldn’t record using that:: lead paint and fish tank pumps had to have a solution.. Then came the internet and tv’s with cameras unseen to the naked eye 👁 ROFLMAOIMP....!!!!!! The chemicals in that dust have to be filtered through the body via liver and kidneys.Yes its a long term accumulation of chemicals but cancer works that way. 89% of cancer is external causes.

During my life I’ve seen so many adjust prices on repairs that fit their WANTS ;was gonna say need bit THATS not it here) When you said video and not even to prove to the customer just for yourself so you would know WHAR needed to be done in the first place. BRO, THAT KIND OF HONESTY HOPEFULLY IS COMING BACK.. Greed has been a part of the game for so long it’s left emotional scars.. Your honesty goes above and beyond the call of duty to your fellow human beings. I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR HONESTY AND LOVE OF MANKIND. I use to be the other way in younger years for a short time however knowing door gaps and doing things the right way, hopefully is an art that’s coming back. At least I can say as a man, God is watching you, & the real true lovers of lost art and Jesus will Prevail.. You Son are setting one of the greatest examples of HOW TO BE ON PLANET EARTH TODAY than we have seen in quite a while.. THANK YOU, FOR YOUR HONESTY MY GOOD MAN.. In Jesus name.. My Parents bought the first MK 10 in 1961, they bought it through a friend who had some connections in England and it arrived before our local dealer had one. It was BRG with forest green leather- what a luxury ride. My dad bought an 8 track tape deck, but the Jag was positive ground, so we had to insulate the entire housing of the tape deck and hook the positive to the case and the negative to the power wire. They drove it until the Borg Warner transmission went out in 1968 and I bought it from them. I changed the transmission with the car on jackstands from a creeper- that thing weighed a ton. I drove it until 1972 and sold it to buy an Aston Martin DB5. Still remember cruising in the Jag with Creedence playing on the 8 track.

My dad had 420G no paint problems, l know several people that owned MK 2 Jags without paint problems. First l have heard of Jaguar having paint problems. They did have problems with steel quality from about 1965 through to 1990. Hence the rust issues. Having owned several Series 2 XJ6's and two XJS's l can confirm rust was a problem with those cars.

Years ago, I had a very good older friend (now deceased) who was a national restored classic car winner. He restored classics like Maxwell, Essex, Packard, LaSalle, Cadillac, Buick, Mercer, Pierce Arrow, Chrysler and more mostly from the Post WW-1 teens and 20's to pre- WW-2 1940's (He did restore a 1948 Town & Country woody convertible that was gorgeous) . In all he'd owned over 40 assorted cars in his lifetime which he'd restored. He'd take a paint stripper instead of a sander to remove all of the paint. He'd then wash the car with a mild alkalide, solution then hand rub another liquid chemical after the car was dry to slow the rusting process. He'd repair the dent's, dings and creases. He was old school and used lead. He would then scuff the metal then paint a primer. He would then paint three, four, five or even six coats of paint. He'd hand sand between each layer after the second layer. **** Chad , Why do you prefer sanding off paint over chemically stripping it? I'd like to know? Thanks ****
@martinrowland25933 жыл бұрын
Chad said not using paint stripper because bottom half of car not being resprayed it will run for sure on the grey

Stripper is better for thick multiple layered paint to save money on sand paper, but if you have 1 layer of paint sanding is the way to go, because with stripper you still have to sand it out anyways. And it makes a mess. You don't want to get that shit in your eye. 😉

Hi Chad,what sand paper grit do you finish with to prepare for a metallic paint?
@geofo603 жыл бұрын
Looks like a classic case of solvent evaporation/micro blistering. Could be due to poor primer adhesion to the substrate, primer applied in damp conditions or top coat was applied on top of primer that wasn’t sanded down. The best solution is strip the lot off. There used to be products back in the 70’s that were supposed to seal the surface before re-priming & top coating. They didn’t work in the long term and by applying high tack tape, you could peel everything off, just as Chad did at the beginning of the video. I was a paint refinishing technician from the mid sixties until I retired a few years ago. I have a feeling that there’s a lot of nasty secrets hiding underneath that top coat.

The primer was never sanded! Home paint job, from 70 to mid 80's.
@geofo603 жыл бұрын
@@rickeh100 Probably done in a cold or damp atmosphere, when the thinner/reducer hits the damp surface and keeps going until it reaches the substrate (steel) & starts to evaporate its way back to the surface it cause solvent pop/ micro blistering. Over time it breaks through the top coat and ends up looking like Doug’s bonnet (hood). I spent my entire working life as a paint refinishing technician and personally if it was me having to correct the problem, I would strip it all off. The exposed surface is unstable and at some point in the future it’s going to do the same thing again. I agree with your comment, it was probably a “home done job” or as we call them in the U.K., a back street bodge job.
@rickeh1003 жыл бұрын
geofo60 Geof Harris yes . I agree with your explanation. After we had lacquer's taken away from us there were a few y ears before we could paint with confidence at home.
