My guest in this episode of The Doctor’s Farmacy is the amazing Dave Asprey, Founder & CEO of Bulletproof, and the leading expert on biohacking. Biohacking is the desire to be the absolute best version of ourselves. Our conversation took us through biohacking, human biology, and the importance of emotional and mental health. I hope you’ll tune into the full episode.

Prophet Muhammad PBUH use to fast bi-weekly (here comes the pre-dawn meal), recommended fasting 3 days a month/ the 3 white days = that was >1400 years a go. He advised on what to eat, how to eat, portion sizes etc. He looked much younger than his age, only had a few white hair in his 60s, teeth shinning like pearls, beautiful vibrant skin, full of energy, positivity, the most positive virtues anyone can ever have, he had them all, too much to say about him, many have spent lifetimes writing volumes of books on him (PBUH). The most praised man ever that walked on this planet. Glad to hear his lifestyle being revived by modern science. Loved this video.

Isn't it funny that lots of foods just fill you up, but, when you eat the real old-fashioned good food made from scratch, that it satisfies you and it is not just "filling up" ....our forefathers had lots of healthy foods that possibly we frowned on.......as in collards, etc....

Your channel is quickly becoming my favorite! I’m an American living in Japan and we have so many 90 and 100 year olds in my neighborhood, many living alone independently (pictures and bios are put in the local newspapers). Yes, it is a wealthy neighborhood but the difference I see here compared to the US is how physically active everyone is until his or her last breath, despite bouts of cancer or heart disease earlier in life! They are out walking daily in sunshine or rain, along the river walkways or on the beach at whatever pace they can manage. Many have dogs requiring their love and attention, who are nursed and walk until their final days as well. Smiles, head nods or bows are abundantly shared, often despite previous rows or disagreements. It is clear to me that a Japanese traditional diet and daily exercise contribute to longevity here. I lived in Okinawa for two years in 2007-09 and found them extremely Americanized due to the US forces presence as well as the period when the US controlled Okinawa and I fear the prefecture is but a shadow of it’s formerly healthy state touted in Blue Zones. Unfortunately, mainland Japan youth seem to be on the same path, following the Western diet as evidence by the growing obesity problem, fuel by recent popularization of cheese, bread and excessive meat consumption. Makes me sad 😢 for this truly lovely country I’ve called home for nearly 20 years.

Totally amazing! I'm a fan. Shared twice DURING the episode as specific messages resonated with others in a similar journey. More left to share. Already Lectin-Free for a year. Loved learning the deep 'why' for my success. More fine-tuning. Great guidelines to cling to regarding emotional health, given a serious family personal confrontation yesterday that will present itself again in a few days. It's one thing to 'fix' ourselves. It's another to be subjected to others who are on the opposite end of the spectrum who have no personal authenticity and hate themselves and everything around them. Thank you.

The information is coming rapidly. So sad for many older folks just refused to change their diet. I see it at work every day. Diabetics eating bread and pasta. Boggles the mind.
@jordanrivera576
@jordanrivera576 6 жыл бұрын
I hear you. My son, age 31, tells me the same thing about older people who are set in their "SAD" ways. I'm glad I'm an exception, I'm the opposite. I talk to so many friends who have a major health issue and they just want to listen to their doc, even though they get frustrated with not ever healing. Their idea of healing is taking drugs for diabetes, lowering triglycerides (never heard of anything so idiotic), high blood pressure, cholesterol, etc. etc. I told one friend recently that I would give her iron bisglycinate which is a safe form of iron. So for her low hemoglobin she takes iron ore supplements from her Dr, but she got so frustrated with stools looking black so she quit them. But does she want to take the safe ones I offer? no - just one example of why Medicare and insurance are so costly. I can't believe the number of people who think even cancer is in the genes. My response to many people about this is: "In 1900 3% of people got cancer and now it's 50%, so obviously it's due to other factors." I tell them about epigenetics.

To the question about veganism I say that many of us consume avocados, olives and coconuts enough to meet our needs for fats. Asprey is promoting MCT oil and at the same time saying we vegans don't get good quality fats. I take MCT oil. What almost everybody is missing concerning the issues with vegetables and especially nightshades is that strong digestion can decompose the lectines before they get to the intestines. What makes me at 59 (Asprey is just 45) a strong healthy vegan is that I have improved my digestive power with specific protocols

I’ve been using a ketogenic diet for almost 4 years as I was diagnosed with insulin resistance and PCOS at 15. I’ve personally never experienced any negative side effects other than digestive issues which I’ve been able to manage with digestive enzymes but I had a lot of issues prior anyway. Before keto I was on a high grain diet recommended for diabetics and I developed major digestive issues particularly acid reflux and at 15 years of age was not fun to have to cope with so I’m glad I’ve been able to sort that out at least.

I’m 50 and female and had thyroid issues ( Hashimoto’s) but that went away by doing keto & intermediate fasting but I haven’t stopped. I see a holistic doctor who checks everything (blood work) and everything looks great. Now I’m confused. Any info would be wonderful. Thanks

around 7:26 - Yes! "normal" aging isn't normal. I had so many joint aches and pains when I was eating grains and high blood pressure. I thought it was genetic (high bp) and part of natural aging (joint pain) until I stopped eating grains and within a week, that all changed. I'm healthier at 49 than I was in my 20s!
