I jammed with Joe once at a buddy’s house. Joe on the gitbox and I jumped behind the skins. Nice guy. One of my good friends is super tight with him and makes his straps for Lagwagon and some other Fat Wreck bands. Joe is just an all around good musician.

I agree, Growing up in SB area they were always my favorite band. RKL are legend. I would say to this day RKL still hold the record for biggest mosh pit at the Red barn followed by the Corruptors from Lompoc Ca. in second place. My old band never got a chance to play live with RKL we did play a show with NOFX way back in 1987

Easily the most underrated. Never understood how punk documentaries would always say punk had died until Bad Religion’s Suffer came out, when the RKL guys were absolutely killing it right around that time. Maybe it’s because I wasn’t around at that time (born in the 90s), but I find myself listening to RnR Nightmare way more than Suffer, and other punk albums around that time. To this day, I don’t know a single band that sounds like RKL. Even Lagwagon doesn’t really sound like them despite being made up of their members. I don’t know, man. They were unreal.

My band Fatal first real show in 1986 was with RKL, the Melvin's and Christ on Parade!! At the time we were a thrash metal cover band and really had no business being on a bill that included these titans of punk rock. Unfortunately the culture clash of a bunch of metal heads and punks turned into a brutal riot, which broke out right after our drummer and I went to get a hotel room for an after-party. I regret that I wasn't there because I may have been able to stop it. Anyway, after that show we became a band that wrote all our own music because of the inspiration of seeing all these incredible bands doing their own stuff. Rip Jason and Bomer, you guys were incredible!!!!

RKL was on another planet as far as talent goes. A band that in my teen years really got me into HC/Punk. I was always puzzled as to why they were never more famous then I learned about all the dysfunction/ self-destructive stuff. A band that is the top of the mountain and prob will never be equalled.

Nothing touches RKL, or Bomers “The Other” band. With Boz & Rich. The musicianship on that record is like nothing else. Boz is nutty. All those guys are on a different level of punk rock jamz. So glad we have Lagwagon today still. Keeping it all alive! Leon, Flip, Bubbles, Da⚡️ve, Caper, Derrick,Jason, Barry, and the MASTER Bomer. All my heros 🏁🤙🏻💪🏻

Yeah the Other. I was in the Real McKenzies when Little Joe was in the band. Little trivia for ya, we also had Boz playing drums for about a year. Say what you want about the McKenzies, there was a level of musicianship that could've gone a lot farther if , well I'll say it, we had a singer who gave a shit. Biggest disappointment of my life, not including my useless penis.

The musicianship on the latest Nofx songs is far beyond anything they have done in the past. Just because the songs are straight forward garage-punk crap doesn't mean the songs suck. I hate the gatekeeper part of punk rock. Bands don't have to sound like crap to be good. You can have glossy production and still be awesome. I don't want to listen to Lo-Fi garbage anymore.

@@dominou01 exactly. Fat Mike plays a danelctro bass made from Masonite (peg board) when he plays live now. I own a danelctro as well and it's seriously lighter than my baritone ukulele or even my thin line tele. I prefer the sound of my stingray bass, but playing it standing hurts after 30-40 minutes. Danelctro is a solid and comfortable stage instrument
