"You killed my son. Now I'm going to kill you like I killed your father". Response: "You killed my father. Now I'm going to kill you like I killed your son" is one of the funniest exchanges I've seen in a long time. The delivery was priceless too.

That whole scene is absolutely hysterical. Like, you can see what the film is trying to accomplish, but at every turn it is just so fucking set in Trim, County Meath in the 90s. Loughlin is supposed to be the boss of a dangerous gang, but he's dressed like an aul' lad going for a pint in that scene, and that's before you get to the stilted delivery. And then the way Bennett shoots him at point blank range with no splatter or smoke, and then just robotically turns to hug his girlfriend. The way it all just happens in broad daylight, possibly near a Spar. It's just *mwah*.

My friends and I have watched this a collective 7 times this year. It is a masterclass in filmmaking. I feel like this movie has opened my third eye, all the lines have downloaded into my brain and now all I can think about is Loughlin saying "Ben-NET?" 3 million times a day

I think that guy only got the part because he was helping to finance the film and he got that role in return. It's one of the best pieces of hilariously bad casting in cinema. I'm guessing the person who wrote the film (Ben-net??) imagined the crime boss as a coked up Ray Liotta type, and if visualise it in that way, some of the lines work a bit better, but when they're delivered by a man who is clearly an affable older gentleman from County Meath, they just sound extremely weird, and that's what makes it oh so good.

JImmy Bennett was and is a massive Jean Claude Van Damme fan. It's probably one of the proudest aspects of his whole life that not only did he move to LA, but has become good friends with Jean in the process.
