The new camera work is nice, but I really liked being able to see the player's faces as Monty is describing things to them, and his reaction when the players respond. Only seeing one or the other takes away somewhat from the experience for me. Even a small window showing the others in the corner while the camera work is happening would be nice

Funny to me how Kelly talked about Sebastian finally getting the ability to teleport through shadows without using slots and he immediately forgot and used Dimension Door at the first opportunity.

It feels new and different to have the improved production value. I was wondering how "edited" the sessions would be, but I like that you left it closer to as-is; I appreciate how natural and comfortable your sessions always feel.

It took me a minute, but the new editing style works for me! I feel more immersed in the story because of it, I think it adds something.

First and foremost, I'd like to say welcome back. I appreciate all the content y'all put out and it's wonderful to see Drakkenheim again. I sincerely hope y'all'll be able to continue forward sith this unimpeded as WotC makes all their OGL changes. With that out of the way, you asked for comments/critiques on the new set up First, the video quality is amazing. I noticed that right off. It definitely feels much more professional. Second, personally, I don't like all the jump cuts between players. I prefer the old style where Jill, Kelly, and Joe are all in frame together. Third, I'm still at the beginning, but Jill's mic doesn't seem as clear as it has in the past. I assume this I'd because y'all're using an overhead mic instead of personal mics? I'll edit this later if that's fixed further in the video Again, I appreciate all the amazing work that y'all do and I look forward to the entertainment to come

Hey guys, good to have you back together, nice setup! I didn't rly like the "google meet style" most of the fun come not from who is speaking, but from the reaction of the other players. We must see the face of Monty when you are planning something rly stupid! Or the fear in your eyes when Monty explain what happened after you fail to do what you plained!

Awesome that you’re all back to basement sessions! ❤ I have a bit of feedback: As cool as it is with the dynamic camera work, I 100% prefer the old static view of Monty and the players at once. It was so much more relaxing to watch when I could chose where to focus my eyes at every moment. The panning and switching back and forth between shots unfortunately gives me motion sickness. And the mics: Monty’s mic is great! The players mics are echoey and low volume. Hope this helps a bit. Love you guys! ❤😊

01:53:11 Pluto has a point: It is very dangerous to go all inside the painting & leave it exposed to destruction/manipulation in a non-safe place. . Alerting Wilhem about what they are about to do will be wise (he has the foldable portal to the Dreamlands [Astral Plane?], that may work as a "backdoor"); either River, Wrath or Eldrich can help finding the place where to place it. . Since they have at least 40+ minutes of the Rope Trick still available: . Cover the paint with a cloth/carpet, then tie the back to an empty can/tool (the "support") . Have Sebastian & Veo cast both Mage Hand (weight lift: 20 pounds). Looking from the street through the window (at a safety 30 feet of distance), lift the support until only the paint is inside the extradimensional space (since the mage hands can not go through). -> If most of the house is not now in the Astral Plane (should not, since Sebastian's Bag of Holding did not triggeted); it is safe to go inside the RooeTrick's space. . Because only Veo's party can go inside, the painting will be safe until the spell fades (allowing for quick exploration).

There seems to be a little bit of feedback in the audio with this new set-up. It's not quite as clean as it was with the remote gaming set-up. There is also some volume balancing that should be done between everyone. Maybe a solution to this would be getting individual mics for everyone to clip on their shirts? Idk, just an idea. Great show as usual, glad to see y'all back at it.

[spoilers] 1:50:51 Monty: so, what happens? Pluto (Joe): I turn Ignatious into a giant flaming flip-flop and smash the thing on the ground.

I think it would have been interesting if the players got to run the monsters that the paladins were trying to defeat and monty got to play the paladins. That could have led to great stories when the paladin was recounting the battles. Maybe they could be a tales of drakkenheim?

[About the Tiger]: If Sebastian makes enough "room" inside his Bag of Holding (empty it), even a large creature like it can fit inside it. | . When hold/worn/carried, the Bag of Holding it is just another item (contents are ignored); so Sebastian can cross into the "paint_space" (a Far Realm?) using his Inteligent, Sapient Mind with it closed. -> Once "inside the paint", the Bag can be opened afain & the tiger xan come out of it (flipping the bag will also eject it safely). The tiger may "come out" in the tunnel but get stuck (a medium creature like Pluto was already "squizing); so probably doing it on the cavern is safer.

Welcome back to the Basement, the new setup looks very professional. I will always prefer live for the random chaos but this is the smarter way to go.

Hi DoD team. Great to see you back in the room together. I personally liked the online format too, but I can see how much it means to all of you to be able to just get together around a table like a regular, old school session. I also like the editing of the camera work; nice work, Kyle. But I think you need to rethink the sound recording for the players; Monty comes though clearly, but Jill, Kelly and Joe often sounded quite distant, both in sound volume and the amount of room reverberation. I think you need to get the mics closer to them. I understand that you probably want to get the mics out-of-shot as much as possible, but from a sound engineering perspective there is nothing that can replicate the improvement in audio quality that comes from just getting the mics closer to the speaker. From the in-person experience, I still think the best quality was when you guys had seperate mics on the table for each of the players.

Great to have you back in the basement! In terms of editing, while the zoomed in shots were good at times, the constant change of POV is a bit distracting. It'd be nice to only use these more parsimoniously, with the wide shot where you can see all of you during scene descriptions being the default "mode". It's good to be able to see everyone's reactions :) I loved the zoom on the battle map to show all the details. It looked great! 👍

The hand!! As to feedback, everyone looks excellent, the new angles are killer, Monty sounds excellent, but the rest of the party definitely sounds further away from their mics though. Finally Monty, those tiny paintings are glorious.

This was the most fun episode yet of the original 3 since season 1 ended - great job all! And so many call backs! Bigsby and Vao, the hoooman :P

Fun watch. Here's some feedback just based on the sound. 1. Veo and Pluto need their own mic. Kelly is nice and clear but the other two are "off mic". 2. Monty is sounding raspy. IF you can EQ your voice, turn down the Hi freq a bit. The 3 shot at 4 min 45 sec, might be better when you're moving minis. Just splitting it up makes the focus shift from the player talking, which I think you'd prefer it to be. Otherwise, it's a fun watch. Thanks!
