I found Fr Mark Beard’s online Sunday homilies, by chance and faithfully looked forward to listening in each Sunday. Oh how I will miss him. He helped me grow in my Catholic faith, return to the sacrament of confession, experience Adoration weekly and see the truth in Catholic doctrine. I ask our Lord for mercy for this loving priest who taught so many of us how to plant our flag! Well done Fr Mark may you be welcomed by the Father, Son and Holy Spirit! Oh how you will be missed….

I find it so amazing that on this his last homily he preached his heart out on all the hot buttons of our doctrine that is being questioned. He even reminds us how we need to hold the only truth giving to us by Jesus Christ as written in the Holy Scriptures. I hear a Sense of urgency in His words to no matter what happens with administration or management of the church we hold the truth and nothing but the truth and get off the fence and stand for our Catholic faith and the doctrine of our faith as it was transmitted to us by the fathers of the church . God rest his soul. Father Mark when you get to Paradise pray for us the militant church so we can remain faithful to the end .

Got into YT this morning and a video was there with a headline saying Fr. Mark had passed. I couldn’t believe it and started crying. It looks like he may have had a heart attack or such as it was reported as a one-vehicle crash. His homilies came into my feed a few months back and I listened each Sunday to them. My mom passed last June and since then I have been very lost. I have delved deeper into my Catholic faith and Father Mark was one of the priests I listened to. His words in particular not only brought comfort, but a call to action. Time and again he would preach to “get in the game.” That you’re either walking towards Christ or away from him. I always felt inspired by his words. We don’t like to think about our own passing, but when death hits home you can’t help but focus on it. Father Mark’s words have touched me deeply and I’ll miss his guidance. I pray the rosary daily and always include intentions that God protect him and all the priests who have the courage to stand up and speak truth in these current times we’re in. I’ll continue to pray for him and that he indeed met Christ who said welcome my good and faithful servant. Prayers to his family and friends as well.

He said a very good statement in November about when he dies, he does not want to hear anyone say, he's in a better place. He said he will haunt you every night, because he was saying, too many think people are in a better place, when no, they are in Purgatory and are forgotten. That not only is true, but he meant it. It was a great homily about Purgatory and he just finished with that, which I thought people may want to remember at this time. Pray for his soul, because he will for you!

One of the most influential men I’ve ever known. His sermons seemed to always hit home with me. When I get off the path sometimes they always seem to gut punch me and send me back on the straight path. It’s a work to be a better husband , father, and friend. I will miss his words that Jesus used through him as a vessel. Thankfully now he’s closer to christ than ever before and has a direct link to help us even more. Fr Mark pray for us.

At 62 and a convert 39 years ago, I genuinely wish there’d been a priest to talk straight to my husband and I 43 years ago. I would’ve converted right away after we married but our (sincerely precious and loving) priest wasn’t fond of converts. I was 6 months pregnant and begged him because I went to mass every weekend and holy day of obligation. For all practical purposes I was Catholic just not technically. So he agreed and I spent 2 weeks with him and then he did my first confession and first holy communion and confirmation all in one ceremony. He had wonderful homilies but none got “real” with the congregation. However, he was beloved by the entire congregation and our small town. He went to the hospital, nursing home, to see shut-ins, etc. Our son was the Las baby he baptized and our daughter loved him like a grandfather. He just never addressed any touchy subjects. Things like contraception that, as a convert, I didn’t really understand and hadn’t read the catechism from cover to cover so there were things I should’ve known then that I didn’t and fully understand now. Plus, the simple act of saying the rosary with your family every night is extremely important and might have helped keep our children in the church. One is out completely - going to a different denomination. The other is still Catholic but doesn’t attend regularly. As children they were raised to go to church EVERY weekend and holy day of obligation as a family. They went to CCE every Sunday or Wednesday (little ones up thru 5th grade went on Sundays). And both went through Confirmation. Plus, my husband and I taught CCE classes and Confirmation for our son. I was a lector, my husband was a Eucharistic minister and both children were alter servers. We were very involved in our church. But, to have a priest tell you what you need to hear is ultimately important no matter how involved you are or what you do at home. What a terrible loss for this church community! You are all in my thoughts and prayers as I know you are broken hearted! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💔💔💔🤗🫶🏻😰

Many of us never heard of father mark beard before but now that we are aware of his tragic death we start to listen to his homily’s and can truly see that he fulfilled his mission on earth and on that last homily he gave everything to God. I just found out he passed away. I forgot about him. I had drifted away from my faith and this morning a friend said if I heard he passed. Great priest and man. Prayers for repose of his soul.
