I had a child at fourteen, I’m now sixteen and my childhood friend of twelve years stepped into the role as my daughter’s father when he found out I was pregnant. He came with me and my girlfriend to all of the scans and he was even there when I gave birth. Even though I’ve got a girlfriend, he’ll always be a Dad to my girl. He’s not her dad through biology, but through love, and my girlfriend is her mother too. Through love.

Wonderful video and message! I've coached a lot of kids sports over the years and seen a huge difference between kids that have loving fathers at home at ones that don't. I grew up with a great dad but wish he would've spent less time working and more time being with me and my brothers. So I made a commitment that when I became a dad, I wouldn't let work become my priority EVER. My wife and kids are my #1 priority. Working long hours, retirement, my passions and ambitions can wait until my kids are grown up. Thanks for the reminder Zach!

My dad is in a condition called coma since I was born and he hasnt cured yet. I havnt spent any time with him. How could I? I was just 2 months old. Growing up, my dad abused me. To this day I still have deep emotional scars. I wish he would've been more like you. To be honest, I don't fully understand what a healthy father-son relationship is. Watching this video, I see that my relationship with my father wasn't "normal". At the end, when the one little boy knocked over the cards, you didn't scream at him and emotionally cut him down. Somehow, I expected such a reaction. I'm not saying that you abuse your children, you seem incredibly loving. I, unfortunately, don't really have a relationship that's anything like this with my dad. My childhood memories of my dad are mostly broken ones that give me panic attacks. They're not all bad memories, but it seems like there's much more nightmarish memories than fond ones. I hate my dad because ever since he’s started going out with his girlfriend who I hate somthing inside of him changed he never played with me the same as before, he’s always with her and I never saw him much before he moved out of his apartment but now I only see him once every 4 months and it takes ages to get to his girlfriends house, before he moved out he was interested in the same sort of games I was and we were always together when I saw him playing those games but now he says he’s got other things to do than play those games I don’t understand how a man could fall in love with a woman and have kids who love him and then divorce and then fall in love again with a different woman it’s like I’ve been betrayed like for example if a friend goes away then the other one gets a new best friend and forget about the one that had before, my dad never comes to Sunday lunches at my nans with my mum and my brother anymore because my mum and dad claim it’s weird and nobody knows what this feels like unless they are in the same or in a similar situation. Zach please don’t put your kids in the same situation I am in, it’s like being stabbed in the heart, I tried not to cry while writing this.
