First song of the 5-track demo tape these guys released in 1992.
Not to be confused with Fathom from Fullerton, California, that were around right the same time, this band was based in Modesto, California. There must have been a shortage for ideas for band-names in California back then, I guess...
Metal Archives lists the band as "melodic power metal". I disagree. To me they sound like a cross between "Slave..."-era Skid Row, Alice in Chains, later-era Metal Church, and "Drive By"-era Oliver Magnum.
"Face to Face" is one of the few demo-only songs I've heard from that era that had a hit potential outside the underground metal fans.
Fathom managed to get support slots in gigs with Y&T, Zakk Wylde's Pride & Glory and Ace Frehley's Comet before disbanding shortly after this demo.
Their line-up was:
Mike Allsup - vocals
Kevin Curtin - guitars
Remi Kern - bass
Fred Siau - drums
