It really is a small world and our colouring community is a constant source of strength and inspiration. I'll put in a small plug for Coloring with Alena in Kiev, Ukraine. (if you feel like sharing 😉) Adelaide has started to change a bit, though we aren’t the fastest at doing it 😁 When I was younger I hated that about living here, but as I get older I am very happy with the status quo - I love to travel and see the world, but I’m always happy to come home too. Living in Melbourne, we moved 27 years ago when my husband took a company transfer.. Still have family there and visit, and I miss the relaxed pace, compared to Melbourne, I am hoping he will agree to retiring there in a couple of years

Melbourne has its charms. We were back in Adelaide in February this year, and it was so lovely driving around, not alot of traffic compared to here. We definitely have seen the change in Adelaide over the years, miss the central market, use to take my daughter there every Friday morning before we moved. I am enjoying your channel your colouring is lovely and I am learning a lot of great techniques from you, especially enjoyed the r j Hampson Around the world completed flip through.

I really enjoyed “getting to know you” sort of, Jackie. A lot of similarities between us too. Especially crisps!! A multipack has no chance with me!! I’m not a sweetie/candy person, give me a chunk of cheese 😅 I haven’t been “creative” with anything lately, but, watching you colour this page has made me want to try with watercolour pencils and a water brush, so thank you 😊

and now I totally want to pull out my Intense.. they are a pencil I often overlook. I have the whole set, not sure why.. I think it's the color selection.. it's just so bright and saturated throughout. It does look great on Camillias art though.

It took me some time to come to grips with how to best use the Inktense pencils but love them now, the colours are so vibrant 👍

When the pastel Holbiens came out and then everyone started putting out dupes I was all about trying to find the "best" pastel pencils.. it wasn't until about six months ago I realized just how many pastel Prismacolors there are. I pulled out 50 from my full set that would be the same sort of colors others offered, and there were probably a few more. You just don't see them as a set since they aren't sold that way, just mixed in with the rest of the 150. Since they are 1/5th of the price of Holbiens here in the US, and I can buy many of them open stock at my local craft store.. they are my go to pastel colors now. I even bought a second set of those colors to have in a set of their own for easy use. Ginger Root is excellent for pale but natural green highlights, I also reach for Pale Sage and Sap Green Light a lot. The vast majority of other pale greens offered by other brands are super bright or super yellow. Jenny's crayon collection has a blog post with a swatch sheet sorting them by value instead of color family order which showcases all the pastel shades if anyone wants to see.

Prismacolour are very expensive here, and to be honest, I feel the quality is a bit lacking so despite liking them a lot I haven’t felt compelled to invest in the whole set. I just buy enough to supplement what I think is missing out of other sets. Perhaps one day if I see them on a good enough sale I might buy a set 😉
