I loved Circe and if MM did Persephone next idk of I would be able to read it because I might die first. Also is there a more Sam moment than I didn’t read it because you guys were bothering me but then I read it and y’all were right. 😂

For more romance with deeper themes and plot, you really need to try Kennedy Ryan. Her recent and incredible All The Kings Men duet, in particular, is chock full of very relevant socio-political plot as well as a gorgeous romance that is years in the making. And as you like beautiful writing as well as beautiful characters and fantasy, I would also suggest anything by TJ Klune but in particular, my fav Wolfsong which is the start of a MM werewolf (and witch) revenge series of 4 books heavily based on found family, acceptance and belonging. And it has my most beloved fictional character ever in Ox the MC. TJ is THE king of MM romance. TFS :)

Circe was my favorite book of 2019! I got to meet Madeline at the book signing, and she was as wonderful as you would expect. I could have sat there for hours listening to her talk about all the things! Also, I'm driving down to Lexington, KY this afternoon for Erin's Starless Sea signing. Squee!

My favourite read of 2019 was Kristin Cashore’s Jane, Unlimited! Forever grateful for your review of it. It put it back in my radar and convinced me to pick it up. I have read countless times this year via audiobook and just love it so much!

FINALLY!!! Someone who loves Starless Sea as much as I did. Have seen so many negative reviews, mainly because people were expecting Night Circus II. I loved the themes of missed opportunities, being imaginative, how time flows differently from one person to the next, and how something that seems so simple can be made into the most extraordinary things. Oh, how I loved this book.

It was everything I wanted from a romance book like bless Christina Lauren

Well thanks to your review , I read The Starless Sea and it was definitely one of my favourite reads this year. I also loved Holy Sister by Mark Lawrence; A Little Hatred by Joe Abercrombie; Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames; The Hod King by Josiah Bancroft;and I finally got around to reading the Red Rising trilogy. I don't know if you have read the Books of Babel series yet, but if you haven't I would strongly recommend it - I don't know any other series like it!!!

I really want to read Amberlough, it's been on my TBR for so long and I love vintage set novels. Nevernight is also so amazing! 4 star books can be so gripping though too. I rated Strange the Dreamer 4 stars, its one of my favorites but the pacing got to me. But the story is profound and beautiful.

I've had Too Like the Lightning and Amberlough on my TBR list for so long, I even own the first one! I also want to read The Starless Sea, but I'm not letting myself borrow that from the library before I've read The Night Circus, which I've owned for years... My favourite book of the year was Night's Master by Tanith Lee, which felt like a whole mythology of this dark fantasy world - I especially enjoyed the Prince of Demons character, Azhrarn.

Omg I started reading one day in december after your video and I just JUST finished it. I loved it!!!! It's just a feel good romance, so many twists and turns, angst, unresolved feelings. ahhhh. I remember your video mentioned how ppl think Jack was an ass and I get that sort of but honestly I unapologetically loveee him. I get the emotional cheating, it's wrong no doubt, but it was a complicated situation.

My favorite of 2019 was something I thought I'd never read myself: malexmale adult romance, but "Collide" by Riley Hart brought me out of my 10-MONTH long reading slump!!!! Is it sexy/steamy as Hell--yes, but to me it's the way Riley writes the main characters Cooper and Noah so effortlessly and flawlessly that I feel in love from the first time these two met. The way she wove their backstory as childhood kids was incredible, and she made me cry. She's probably the only person who can do childhood friends to lovers CORRECTLY. Riley Hart is definately a character-driven author I recommend greatly!!#

Omg, I loved One Day in December, but I've never heard anyone talk about it until now!!! I thought the changing perspectives were done surprisingly well, and the fact that the characters are treated not like caricatures, but like people with conflicting interests, made me like the book a lot more than if it were unsympathetic towards people who weren't Laurie or Jack.

I hope 2020 is the year of super angsty romance / thriller combos. The more angst the better. It’s my stress escapism and I can’t get enough. It has to be to good kind though, aka Goldilocks angst. No cheesy dialogue, insta love or typical good girl swoons of bad guy. I need North and South but with way more bodice ripping set in a book where action or thrills compliment the angst. Come through for me 2020!

I read One Day in December right at the end of the year too. I just wanted a little more romance from the two main characters. Like if that initial connection on the bus was a date or a day together or night out at the bar, I would’ve been a bit more sold on their connection. I was about 85% there though.

Bloodwitch was so good!! I have such high expectations for Iseult's book 😍. My fav of the year was A Winter's Promise by Christelle Dabos, it is not very popular since it's a translation by a french author but I really think it deserves all the love. Q: on a scale of 1 to 10 how much sex do you tolerate in your romance books? I ask this before I feel free to recommend some, since I'm a big romance reader.
@ThoughtsOnTomes
@ThoughtsOnTomes 4 жыл бұрын
tpstps85 so I can’t really give it a scale but I tend to prefer 1-3 sex scenes at the very most. I’d say 3 is my limit and I might be getting annoyed at that since romance books aren’t that long. Not a fan of just smutty books. Gotta have a plot.
