I’m biased by noting this because I have a journalism background, but as passive and uninvolved as Frank seems to be, he did a great interview. He’s meant to be uninvolved, unrelated even though he has an Asian heritage because he’s not the story, Jo is. And Jo cried, why are you doing this to me? Frank didn’t do anything but let Jo talk and be moved by his own words and Frank gave him that uninterrupted space. This is a perfect textbook example of how interviews should be conducted. It’s great to ask hard, difficult questions; but the ultimate goal is to get the hard, difficult answers from your guest. Well done sir! And Jo, just a normal, regular extraordinary comedian!

Jokoy's comic brilliance comes from his truth. He's insanely funny because his skits are from his own reality and not something forcely made to come out funny. He is quite a story teller that's why people love him. His subjects are real life shit, so to speak. And people really dig stories they can relate to. All these becoming extra special because of his love for his ethnicity. You make us proud being Filipinos, Joe. I have watched a bunch of Jokoy interviews and this by far is my favorite. Its just so raw and sincere. Unfolding the struggles behind his success just hit me so hard. He is amazing. God bless this man. He is truly an inspiration. #PinoyPride 🇵🇭

It’s, for the lack of a better word, refreshing, and more human, to see him not just cracking jokes, but getting emotional. This is not just a Filipino stamina that made him not want to give up, we all have that. it’s how you are being influenced and let your own thoughts and emotions let control of your emotions in certain situations to make decisions (and we have to live, adapt and move on with what happens after that, positive and negative). His experience is nonetheless very inspiring.
